" I have somewhere to go bye" zoko were are you going we need you" cooking battle" that's all I could hear before zoko disapperd 

" I,ve tasted mito's dish at a academy event at that level you can drink the meat" the mito corporation is whole meat selling company " he's bringing himself down " anyway how much savings does the club have" well you see" that's all" I guess I,ll have to chip in how much did dad leave me anyway 

That's all I can't buy that much I still buy the ingredients in need and return back to the club and start to prep ingredients " this is an outlet don subbuing beef for pork" konislsi soon takes a bite from the dish 

"It's not bad but it's still lacking" that won't work either"the flavor isn't refined enough"senpai's looking pale again" throw some water on him" huh we,ve followed all promising leads in the don rs collection"  maybe we could use something like soft meat" soft meat 

"Tadokoro thanks I owe you one" first we make slashes in the meat" then we tenderize it with onions " and here" tadokoro and konislsi take a bite out of my dish they start to react 

"Will this really be enough to defeat mito"

3 days later

"Here are the ingredients you asked for I got everything " soma-kun don't get nervous" this isn't scary at all" compared to when I,m serving coustemers this is nothing"  I hear my name called and walk out on stage mito arrives as well 

Zoko pov 

"Yukihira you better win" yukihira turns and looks at me  

"If you don't want to be seen as the cocky transfer student you need to win your first shokugeki" okay" as the match progress I go to were Erina is 

"So eri what happens when mito loses" there's no way she would lose espically not to yukihira soma" are you sure Erina " zoko just sit down and watch the match" hey I have a shokugeki next round as well " so let me have a little fun" mito soon puts her meat in the oven and Erina starts quizzing hisako 

"Hisako do you know were her talent lies" no" maybe it's her strength to easily cut meat" close but it's actually the opposite " mito sensitivity allows her to get the exact temperature of the meat getting the perfect Unami " but Erina what happens when that high quality meat goes with rice" Erina ignores me and we watch mito finish up her dish 

"Wow that got a reaction out of the judges" as expected of mito" but who I,m interested in is yukihira" why are you so interested in yukihira . Zoko" this time I ignore Erina 

Yukihira pov 

After I,ve delt with my meat I add wine into the pan as well as onions mito soon appears from behind me 

 "You should just give up you can't beat my A5 meat" I flip my pan and the fragrance gets mito to react 

"Hey it's said that any chef who talks to much in the kitchen" can't be trusted to have actual skill" mito soon walks back to her corner after finishing the rice and the plums I walk up to present my dish 

"Here you go" I,d rather just go home savoring the A5 beefs flavor" I open the lid of the bowl 

"Well it's not as bad as I thought it be" the judges dig into my dish and begin to eat it rapidly  

"It's so good" he dazzled the onions in the sauce he made" and added potato starch " but that can't be all" yeah the trick is in the rice" the rice" I added pickeled plum paste to the rice" it gives the rice a refreshing rice flavor " each compenet of the dish is highness the other" when the judges are done with there dishes they begin to complain that they want seconds 

"Mito's dish was good as well" but this dish makes you want more" a simple trick like that can't allow him to win 

"If you don't believe it try my dish mito ikumi" mito finishes my dish completely and the judges give there scores  

"The winner is yukihira soma" glad you enjoyed" 

Zoko's pov 

"Yukihira you won" yeah guess I did" watch my match next okay" sure" the next match is nakiri zoko vs inisuki ishina 

I begin my perp work on the onions and meat then I stir up eggs and put them in a pan I grab another pan and add wine soy sauce cheese and tomato juice" well inisuki you ready to face defeat " it's you who,ll lose " maybe" maybe not" after the wine, cheese, soy sauce and tomato juice are done I add the sauce made by them to my plate 

"Once I serve victory is ensured inisuki" I,ll sweep you of the third seat zoko" oh everyone still thinks I,m the third seat I,ll tell them I,m the zeroth seat soon enough 

After the eggs are done I slice them up and begin to mush them "what dish is nakiri zoko making" hey are you doubting his cooking " no I,m just asking" people seriously need to stop thinking about the dishes i,m making 

After the eggs are mushed I fry them again and add a second egg mix this time the yolk is seperated I pour in the yolkless base in the pan and it surronds the mushed eggs and then I put the yolk in a seperate pan once their done I put them on the plate I put the meat with onions in the oven after 20m it's done and I collect it and cut it into a hilt shape and the rest of the meat is surrounded by onions and made into a sword that's put inside the hilt 

This kind of reminds me of saito i,m lost in thought for just a few seconds "the first to present is inisuki" this dish might give him a chance" I walk up and present my dish 

"What is this dish" sword of samurai" the samuri is obiviously saito I think to myself 

" what is that red substance on the plate" oh it's supposed to symbolizes blood from a battle" but that's just wine with soy sauce, tomato juice, and cheese"  oh also inisuki you remember the terms for the shokugeki right" of course" my expulsion and the destruction of my families restaurant " well the terms have been changed " this is a free seat battle nothing's on the line for you" but I,ll still win regardless" we,ll try nakiri zoko's dish now" the red sauce alone can beat inisuki's dish" but we,ll examine the rest of the dish" the meat is so crisp and tender" and the eggs that were used " add a whole new level of flavor" it's barley withstandable " 

"Nakiri zoko how did you come up with the inspiration for this dish" I start to think about my various wins against saito 

"a friend showed me something close to a movie of it" and I wanted to recreate it in this dish " saito really is pushy about codes but if you get to know him he's a really nice person and he can actually cook I say this inside my head though 

"Nakiri zoko are you really the third seat of the elite ten" of course" this dish surpasses any expectation set for you" yes you are like a divine being who has come to punish those who disgrace cooking" well thank my friend for the idea" I wouldn't have been able to Create this dish otherwise" well the winner was voted by all three of us " the winner is" 

Nakiri zoko 3-0 inisuki ishina 

" inisuki let me taste your dish" no" fine" then taste mine" inisuki lifts the plate out of my hand and takes his first bite 

"This dish has no faults" really" I walk to my other servings of the dish 

" who wants the twenty other servings" twenty people arrive from their seats just to taste  my dish 

" sorry only eighteen I want yukihira and megumi to taste my dish to" of course nakiri zoko" I bring my plates to yukihira and megumi 

" I hope you enjoy this dish" they take a bite and their reaction tell me everything 

"So what do you think" it's perfect" thanks" 

After the shokugeki I went to saito's place again because he invited me and because he also challenged me to a cooking battle and because he's become as important as yukihira and tadokoro are to me 

Also he allowed me to occupy his bed since I didn't have one I sleept really well that night
