Innocent Pit based SSB shorts

Crash and burn #3

A/N: Last chapter of the angst, I don't feel as happy with this then the upcoming thing I wrote but I decided I should just finish this off at the moment. (also don't know if you noticed but I've been giving ya'll cute images purposefully as an apology, I'm sorry :( but I still hope you enjoy todays chapter cause there Might not be one tomorrow) ; -;)

"What's happened, Where is Pit!?" Palutena enters the infirmary with Olimar following behind her.

Bowser, now joined by Samus, stops her and explains what's going on. "All day the kid's been more quiet than normal and suddenly up and collapses in pain in the middle of a match with us. And he wouldn't stop shaking so I found Peach and she's trying to calm him down in there."

"Thank you all so much for your help." Palutena nods to them gratefully before stepping inside the room Bowser had mentioned. Upon entering she did notice the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach, sat on the edge of a bed Pit was huddled on. "You'll be okay Pit, we'll help you." She heard the Princess speak comfortingly towards the smaller who was now shaking his head and repeating the word "no" over and over again.

"Pit, I'm here, calm down." Palutena makes her way to sit beside the shaking angel and gently allows his head to press against her chest. "L-lady Palutena, I'm sorry..." Pit trails off as a fresh set of tears fall from his eyes.

"Shhh, it's alright now. You won't feel a thing after this, I promise.." The goddess soothingly runs a hand through Pit's brown locks and Peach watches in amazement as the hand begins to emite a soft white glow.

"Palutena? Could you tell us what's happened to Pit, is he alright?" Peach questions in concern for her friend once the whole ordeal was over and Pit had fallen into a deep, peaceful sleep.

With a nod Palutena lays the unconscious brunette down beside her. And allows the others outside to enter before she begins speaking. "I know you may all be pretty worried for Pit's well-being at the moment, and I can't blame you, but I can assure you all that this is entirely normal for an angel." The look of shock was evident on everyone's face, but they all let her continue before interrupting with their voiced concerns.

"Today is what most would call Pit's Anniversary of Death. The "Death Anniversary" will happen once every year on the day the angel has died. Their body will basically revert back to whatever state it was in during that time, but only certain triggers can set off a reaction this badly.. Do any of you know if Pit has come in contact with any fire at all today? His trigger is one of the worst, just the sight of flames can make him have a meltdown."

Looking around at each other the four other people in the room think over how much they've seen him today and what's happened so far. "Oh no..." Bowser growls out as he looks down at his hand and balls it into a fist. "I'm so sorry, this is all my fault." He grits his teeth in a scowl as he gets trapped in his own thoughts of how much he'd hurt someone who'd tried to reach out him and be his friend. He was a monster, that's all he ever would be.

"It's fine Bowser you couldn't have possibly known any better, but if it really is just how I thought I'm sure you guys first checked him over for any injuries." Palutena gets up and walks over to a cabinet, digging through it before finding what she needed. "Um yes," Peach speaks up and lays a hand on the arm of Bowser sympathetically, "Bowser and I tried our best to check him over while still respecting his privacy. We mostly just removed his cuffs, scarf, boots, and other accessories."

Palutena simply nods her head as she carries over a small bottle of burn ointment towards the angel and props his unconscious body up on hers before turning towards Samus. "Samus, I know it may sound strange, but would you please help me remove Pit's shirt? I just know there's something wrong with his back and I can't remove all his top half clothing while keeping him up like this."

".. Okay." Samus nods her head and walks over to the other two. As she assists the goddess in removing the angel's top, the other three turn away in respect of their friend's privacy.

Samus couldn't help but let out a gasp of worry upon the sight of her friend's incredibly burnt up back. Most of the skin around the base of his wings seemed unhealthily red and raw.

Upon hearing her the other three turned around to the same sight of Lady Palutena spreading out the ointment on her angel's back.

"Palutena, do you know what could've happened to him that caused all this?" Samus asks the goddess as she assists in wrapping bandages around her friend's now exposed torso. After finishing Palutena sighs and places Pit's body down once again.

"I have no knowledge of Pit's actual death, but I do know it must have been pretty gruesome due to the fact he almost seems to be burned alive." Peach stiffly nods and Olimar exits the room visibly upset. "Please," Bowser speaks up after being silently caught up in his own worry this entire time. "If there's any way we could help, there has to be something we could do-" "No." Palutena interrupts him with the shake of her head. "This is, and always will be, something Pit must face alone. The only thing we can do for him in times like this is press on and continue to smile like he does, so he knows he's never as alone as he is right now."

An uneasy quiet filled throughout the room. And with what new information they've retained, things would surely be a whole lot different for everyone involved in the situation from now on..
