A/N: Marth x Pit cause.. idk why, but the only math involved is like 2+2 so..

(I've been working on this for 2 weeks, someone help-)

"Marth, Marth, Marth, Marth, Marth!" Pit knocks on the blue haired princes' door repeatedly until said boy finally opens up. "What!?" Marth slams open his door in annoyance and only rushes to gain his princely composure when he noticed his angel friend was standing outside his door. "Oh, Pit. Good morning. What brings you to my door?" Marth questions curiously while Pit is too occupied with his anxious fidgeting in place to comment on Marth's previous outburst of hostility.

"Marth, I need your help." At Pit's serious tone Marth straightens his posture. "What's happened, are you alright?" Marth goes to place a hand on Pit's shoulder, now concerned for his friend's well-being, until Pit pulls out an addition and subtraction number book from seemingly out of nowhere and shows off the cover to the confused Marth. "I don't know what anything in this book says and Lady Palutena wanted me to figure it out!" Pit cries out desperately.

"What-?" Marth began to ask but was cut short as Pit kept talking in a panic. "I don't know what language this is Marth, I figured you could help cause you know Japanese and stuff, but I'm not too sure whether this is really it.."

Marth sighed, stepping out of his room and closing the door behind him before taking the book into his hands and giving Pit a frown. "Pit.." He calls the other's name for a minute, trying to figure out what was going on exactly. "You do know what numbers are, right? You can count?" At the statement Pit merely scoffed and gave Marth an, 'Are you serious?' look.

With an angry huff Pit pouts as he crosses his arms at Marth. "Yes Marth, of course I can count. All the way to two hundred million (200,000,000) actually." Giving Pit a skeptical look Marth raises a brow at the brunette boy despite the small glint of amusement in his gaze. "Well Pit, if you know so many numbers yourself why do you need my help?" "It's those darned symbols!" Pit points to an equal sign on the book's cover and immediately Marth picks up on the angel's strange phrasing.

"Pit." Marth laughs a bit and puts his hand over the other's. "Those are addition, subtraction, and equal signs. They're not a language.." Pit's jaw goes wide as he takes the book from Marth's sight once again. "What signs? What does that mean!?" In Pit's frustration he flips through the pages over and over again.

Marth sighs, looking around before taking Pit's hand and gently coercing the angel boy inside his bedroom. "Here, I'll teach you." The blue haired prince offers and sits himself beside the other on his big, fancy, important man bed. Pit crosses his legs and leans in excitedly awaiting instruction. Unfortunately for the angel he didn't quite yet get that math, as a subject, wasn't all it's cracked up to be.

"Alright Pit, can you show me a number one using your fingers?" Marth questions, his own hands cupped around the other's until Pit nods and follows out orders. Pit raises one finger, his pointer finger. And eventually Marth requests he do the same for the other hand. When both of his hands are up before him, Marth slides the book over to show Pit the addition symbol. "This little cross means you have to add, meaning you put one more finger up." Marth explains and Pit nods before putting up another finger. "Okay, now count all the fingers you have up." "One, two, three!" Pit counted, absolutely bursting with pride afterwards.

(God, I'm taking Algebra 2 this year *existential dread*)

That was the easy part.

Around the time Marth began to indroduce him to double digit subtraction Pit was drained of all his previous excitement to learn. "Maaaarth, I'm tiiiiirrrred." Pit griped out in boredom as he plopped his head down on the other boy's shoulder. Marth sighed, knowing Pit was starting to face a bit of a struggle, but he didn't want to let his friend give in so easily.

"Pit, I know this may be really long and boresome.." Marth trailed off, noticing that the angel on his shoulder was now borderline growing a bit upset. "But math is important." "Math sounds dumb anyway." Pit pouted, completely ignoring the sincere advice Marth was lecturing him with. At that Marth sighed, closing the addition and subtraction math book before placing his head on top of Pit's. "Pit, you do know my name is just the word math with the exception of one letter, right?" Marth raised an eyebrow and glanced down with his eyes to see the thinking expression on Pit's face. "O-of course," Pit thought it over a bit before giving in and deciding to admit defeat. "Now which letter would that be again?" He asked, his cheeks flushing a light pink in embarrassment.

"Pit, you know your spelling.. right?" Marth lifted his head a bit, but he could still feel the small difference as the other lowered his head and mumbled a simple. "Not really."

Pit seemed much more upset now, Marth noticed. And instead of pushing the angel boy further from his comfort zone Marth simply set aside the math book and snaked his arms around Pit's waist. "Well, we can learn that next." Before Pit could groan in response Marth smirked and pushed him back into the princely sheets they both sat on.

"Though I do suppose, one, tiny break won't kill us." Marth leaned in, as well did Pit and before the two new it there they lay, kissing on Marth's bed. "Me plus you equals woah." Pit mumbled absentmindedly as soon as they broke apart and Marth found himself laughing louder than he has in the longest time. Pit still in his arms, Marth spoke aloud. "Guess you were paying attention after all."

The End (over 1000 mathematical words)

Also, Bonus:

"But I really can count all the way to two hundred million!" Pit argued as he lay on Marth's bed facing upwards. Marth, sat at his desk, gave an amused sound of non-belief. "Sure, Pit. You're cute, but I'm not dense enough to fall for that."

"Really, I'll show you!" And before Marth could protest Pit sat up and begun counting. "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty one, twenty two, twenty three-" Well you get the gist.

The angel actually continued on, for nearly two hours and twelve minutes before taking one final breath and finishing up. "One hundred, ninety nine million, nine hundred and ninety nine thousand, and nine hundred, ninety nine. Two hundred million!" Pit cheered, now laying on his stomach beside Marth. "Wow," Marth lay beside him in astonishment as he observed how dark the outside sky had grown before turning to Pit. "I really didn't think you'd go that far." Marth spoke in surprise and amusement and Pit's long lost pride returned to him smile. "Told ya I could do it!"

Despite the angel's cocky phrase Marth was still beyond the moon confused. "How is it that you can't add, or read, or spell, but you've managed to count all the way to two hundred million?" Marth asked, but the only response he was given was a confused shrug.

The End for real this time! =)
