"Yah pabo, you're gonna be late for school if you keep taking your time" I teased as nayeon walked out of her house.

It was our first day of university and despite going to the same school, we pursued different courses.

"Yah stop calling me that!" Nayeon snapped back at me cutely.

"Aww my baby is angry so early in the morning. I think I should kiss her more." I said as I pinched her cheeks.

"Yah, stop it" Nayeon said as I gave her a kiss on her lips. "Feel better?" I asked upon breaking off. Nayeon smiled at me while showing her bunny teeth as she nodded adorably.

We headed to school via subway and before heading to our classes, we had a short moment together.

"It's weird that we have been seeing each other almost every day inside and outside of school back then" I brought up to Nayeon, knowing that this time will be slightly different as we won’t be seeing each other as often as before due to the fact that we pursued different courses of study despite being in the same school.

"I don't want to leave you" Nayeon said as she leaned on my shoulder.

"Me neither" I replied.

"I just want us to stay together for as long as possible" We cuddled at a corner for a short while before breaking contact.

"Yah, promise me you'll do well and make friends yea? I really want you to be happy in what you do always." I said to Nayeon.

“You too,” Nayeon replied. "And don't stare at other girls!" She teased while pouting adorably.

"Yah, what reason do I have to stare at other girls when I have you? You should stop admiring other guys" I teased.

"Why would I admire other guys when I have such a gentlemanly boyfriend who means the world?" Nayeon replied me sheepishly.

"Aww my baby is shy" I teased as I held her face and kissed her lips once more. Nayeon was totally caught off guard and eventually returned my kiss. I broke the kiss and stared into her eyes as class was about to start. "Thank you for the encouragement y/n" Nayeon said. “Fighting!” I said as we went our separate ways.

School was hectic as the pace was extremely fast. Projects, presentations, and tests piled up but I was able to manage as well as see Nayeon as we try to make time for one another. Nayeon seemed to be getting by well in her course of study. We have our groups of friends in our courses of study and despite not being able to see one another as often as before, we still tried to meet up whenever possible.

One day, I was walking out of the lecture hall after class as I was waiting for Nayeon to come by as our classes ended at the same time that day. I haven't seen her all day as our classes start at different timings that day. Nayeon didn't pick her phone up and her group of friends, just walked by me on the way out of school. I thought maybe she stayed back to complete her project. I then caught sight of her walking slowly with her head faced down slightly. I knew something was wrong and I went up to her.

"Yah Nayeonie, you ok?" I asked as I held her close to me. She didn't reply me for a while and then she broke her silence. "Y/n…" Nayeon said as she hugged me tightly.

"Shhh it’s ok, you can tell me" I said as I pat her back. She started to cry and we sat down as I comforted her.

"It's ok Nayeonie, just let it out" I said as I think she just had a rough day.

Nayeon just continued to cry as I hugged her. "It's ok Nayeonie, take your time." I said as I held her close to me while wiping her tears.

"I screwed up my test." she said as she started to choke up in tears again.

“I thought I had it, but I was wrong. I don’t know if I can continue.” She continued.

"It's ok Nayeonie, I know you can do better. You’re a smart girl and you know that.”  I encouraged her.

"You know back in high school, a certain someone told me to hold my head high and believe in myself, because she believed in me every step of the way, and I believe in her just like she did in me." Nayeon looked up at me and smiled slightly.

“Feeling better already?” I teased as I pinched her nose. She didn’t say anything and nodded in silence as she leaned on my shoulder. We sat in silence trying to enjoy the company of one another.

"Nayeonie, I’m sorry we haven’t been meeting up too often, I didn’t know how you were doing. I’m sorry if you felt lonely without me, or deserted when I took too long to reply your texts." I apologized to her, knowing that I haven’t been paying too much attention to her mental well-being lately.

"It's ok y/n, don’t beat yourself up" Nayeon persuaded me.

“I don’t blame you for being busy with school” she added

"It’s ok to make mistakes, none of us are perfect." I said.

Nayeon let out a slight smile and put her hand on my shoulder. "Yah, you really have a way with your words huh" she said.

"Feeling better?" I asked as I cupped her cheeks. Nayeon nodded adorably with a reassuring smile. I kissed her lips without her consent but she didn't mind as she was probably mentally exhausted after a bad day. I broke the kiss and Nayeon smiled her biggest smile of the day as she stared at me.

"Yah you should be hungry, let's go and eat" I said as I held her hand.

"Yaaahhh, Nayeonie wants bbq" Nayeon said adding her touch of aegyo.

"Sure, anything for my baby girl" I said.

We went for bbq as I helped Nayeon to grill the meat, knowing how bad of a cook she is.

Nonetheless, I enjoy her presence every time she sat opposite me and smiled while admiring me.

"Oh look, the meat is done" I said as I picked the tongs up and cut up some meat for my lovely girlfriend. She ate the meat and her facial expression was so adorable while chewing and smiling at me as I fed her just for fun. At the cashier, the bill came out and made payment for both of us before heading out of the restaurant with Nayeon as she took her purse out of her bag to pay me.

"You don't have to pay this time, I'll treat" I assured her, as I wanted to repay her for the time she treated me to a meal back in high school.

"Come, let's go home together, it's getting late" I said and held her hand as we went back to our area together.

It was rather quiet between the 2 of us as she was just exhausted so I let her lean on me while on the subway. We reached to her doorstep where I was about to send her into her house.

"Yah, if there are any problems you're facing, You can tell me. I want to help you, just like you helped me in the past." I said as I swept her hair to one side.

Nayeon didn't say anything and stared at me blankly.

I kissed her forehead and looked at her. "Thank you y/n for always being by my side, and for the treat. Sorry, I should have opened up a little more to you" She added.

I stayed silent and gave her a hug. "It's ok Nayeonie, you can share with me your problems when the time is right." I replied.

"Good night" she said as she headed into her house after a long hug with me.

"See you tomorrow" I said with a smile. I went back home and washed up. "

Am I doing enough" "Is she happy" As thoughts flood my mind while I lay in bed staring at the ceiling and eventually fell asleep.
