The 6-year-old put the letter under his bed. He hoped the monster, his dad was always talking about, would answer him. He thought it would be lonely. He himself hasn't had many friends so he didn't want it to feel like it has nobody. He wanted it to be happy. This evening he even told his dad to not scare it away and for some reason fell asleep faster than he normally did.

And little did he know it was because of the monster under his bed.
