We watched the door close on the outside and closed the door to the dropship. It had finally sunk in that we were going to Earth.
A count down started just as two guards ran to the outside door. They banged on the door and tried to type in a password to get the doors to open. The doors wouldn't budge.
Then I heard the last few numbers of the countdown.

"CLARKE!"
Then I saw my mom with a scared look on her face.
"MOM!"

Liftoff.
I felt the engine blast away from the ark.
It was just me and the guard in an awkward silence.
"So," I said, "I am Clarke Griffin, who are you?"
"My name is Bellamy Blake," he responded.
That was basically all we said the whole trip. I am just going to go out on a limb here and say that we aren't friends yet.
