Stopwatch

21 3 4

I will be there,

Though you'll never see me.

I am worse than death,

Yet I am all you have.

I hold the stopwatch of your life in my hand,

As I stand before the sea.

Waves crashing against the rocks,

Flinging seaspray into the air.

I stand there.

It is your choice what you do with what I give you.

I will not console you,

Only watch silently from my high pinnacle.

Waiting,

Never to reach out when you fall,

For what am I?

But an indefinite progress of existence.

I hold the stopwatch of life.
