I don't remember what it's
like to not feel broken

Sofia's POV

The strong breeze whips my hair around. Sitting one the now empty bleachers, the once loud field was completely empty and soundless. I stare at the dead field, where only minutes ago our school won the championship. Old garbage can be seen scattered along the ground.

I await for Jace to finish getting showered and changed, so I can talk to him about today. I was barley able to focus the whole game, my mind still scattered from what happened at the cafe.

Everything that happened in there still made no sense to me. Why did Sam seem to care so much? Even after he told me to stay away from him.

A faint laughter gathers my attention. I quickly look up to see Jace walking out of the boys locker room, just saying goodbye to one of his teammates. Standing to my feet, I cautiously hop down the bleachers. I run towards him calling his name.

He looks my way, his surprised expression quickly turning into disappointment. His mood changed shocked me so much, I almost froze.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" I ask stopping by his side.

He sighs and stops walking "what is it?" He bickers. I glared at him "what's your issue with me right now! Why have you been super rude and ignoring me all day!"

Jace scoffs "oh like you don't know. You know I'm starting to think Sams right, you do miss all the signs" he barks, throwing his arms around.

"Wow, so this has something to do with Sam? Is that why your ignoring me all of sudden? Because you should know theres nothing going on between us" I inform him.

"Sofia What are we?" He asks talking a step towards me. I tilt my head "Jace we're best friends, your just like a brother to me"

He painfully grunts, running his hands down his face "Sofia you know that's not how I feel about you. I like you, a lot. Being more then just friends" he steps back from me "and the worst part is you know this, but your just dragging me along while your out fucking Sam!" He screams.

His words hit me hard. "Jace there's nothing going on between us! How many times do I have to tell you that!"

"Listen, this whole 'friendship' thing of ares is not going to work. It's just to complicated, and it's clear that you don't feel the same about me. Sorry Sofia, but just don't talk to me anymore" with that Jace walks away.
