I headed straight to the cafeteria after my last class. Jaemin’s probably waiting for me for a long time. Ang alam ko kasi, his classes end early today. Not to be a weirdo but I just know. Why did he even invite me, he could’ve invited Jeno instead.
Pagkadating ko sa cafeteria, nakita ko si Jaemin na nagc-cellphone lang sa isang gilid. He was really attracting attention just by doing so. I don’t know why. Almost all the people occupying the tables have their eyes fixed on Na Jaemin and he’s obviously not aware of that.
Lumapit ako sa kanya at agad naman siyang ngumiti. His smile is, safe to say, majestic. ‘Yung ngiting hahanap-hanapin mo. His smile is so welcoming. It’s a smile that’d make you feel. . . I don’t know, giddy? “Punta na ba tayo agad, Telley, o gusto mong kumain?” tanong niya at umiling ako. “Eileen forced me to eat a lot nung lunch, and I’m still full. Diretso na lang tayo sa arena para makausap mo pa si Jessica,” sagot ko at ngumiti na naman siya lalo.
“Ang galing. Ilang words ‘yon? Kinikilig na talaga ako, Telley.”
“Shut up, Nana.”

“Ate, ‘wag ka kiligin, ah? DLSU ang ic-cheer ko ngayon, hindi ikaw. ‘Wag makapal mukha.”
“Jaemin, ‘wag kang feeling entitled, ah? ‘Di ka relevant. ‘Wag makapal mukha.”
Pinanood ko silang dalawa magbangayan at natawa na ‘rin yung ibang mga nakakarinig sa kanilang dalawa. Typical siblings. I won’t be surprised kung nag-DLSU si Jaemin para lang mainis yung ate niyang taga-AdMU.
“Ah, Jaem, sino pala yung kasama mo?” tanong ni Jessica at agad naman akong napatingin sa kanilang dalawa. “Estelle Fernández. Model siya, from DLSU. She was chosen to be Givenchy’s representative last year. Wala, share ko lang,” pagpapakilala ni Jaemin sa’kin at nagulat naman si Jessica. “Givenchy?! Hala, OMG. Mag-lunch tayo together next time, Estelle, ah? Wala nang Jaemin sana!” sabi niya sabay hawak sa mga kamay ko. Tumango naman ako.
“Ate, DLSU ‘yan. AdMU ka. Wala, wala.”
“Alam mo, minsan iniisip ko na sana ‘di kita kapatid. GTG, guys! Pasok na kami sa court,” paalam niya na tinawanan lang ni Jaemin. Nakakatuwa silang dalawa panoorin. Nagbabangayan, pero alam mo namang suportado nila yung isa’t isa.
Pagkaupo namin ni Jaemin sa seats, nahagip agad siya ng camera. Natawa naman siya at kumaway. “Kiss!” sigaw ng mga tao sa likod at lumingon naman si Jaemin para sabihing, “Grabe kayo. Haha!”

The first set started with AdMU leading, 8-6. I’m not a fan of volleyball so I don’t really know how this works but I do know that Jessica’s really doing all the work for Ateneo. This is her last playing year, plus she’s the captain, so I’m sure she wants to secure the Champion title for her team. Although Jessica is doing amazing, DLSU’s players can really read her well. Momentum? Nah. This is anyone’s game.
Celine Torres is stepping up in this season for DLSU. On her third playing year she’s already a 2-time UAAP Champion, 2-time UAAP Best Blocker, former Rookie of The Year, and former season MVP. Celine is also the one linked to Jaemin when it comes to shipping. Like, aside from Jeno.
“Ang galing ni Celine,” sabi ni Jaemin. Of course, she is. Celine’s perfect. She’s pretty, pretty smart, pretty athletic, and pretty kind.
“Of course,” bulong ko.
The game was turned to La Salle’s favor, unexpectedly, and the game was ended by a powerful spike from Olivia, the rookie. Everyone in the arena cheering for DLSU stood up and shouted “Animo La Salle!” which made my heart feel full, honestly. The green and white sea is outnumbered, but the Lady Spikers are never fazed.
Never shall we fail.
“Sayang,” bulong ni Jaemin. Of course, he’s here for his sister. Pero at the same time he’s happy naman for the Lady Spikers.
Celine Torres is the player of the game. As expected. Noong natapos ang Alma Mater Hymn ng DLSU, agad na ininterview si Celine ng commentator. Nanatili lang ako sa pwesto ko habang pinuntahan ni Jaemin si Jessica. Babalik daw siya, sandali lang. He should take his time, honestly. It was a devastating loss.
“Celine, you seem pumped up today. May I know why?”
“First of all, it’s because of the La Sallian community na nandito at sumuporta sa buong team and also. . . because of that one person in the audience.”
Who?
“Sino naman, Celine? Share mo naman sa’min!”
“Well. . . he plays basketball. For La Salle ‘din. Haha!”
Jaemin is the only Green Archer in the arena.
Of course, Na Jaemin has to be with someone as perfect as Celine Torres. We’re both pretty, but there’s a differenceㅡshe’s pretty perfect, and I’m just. . . pretty average. He deserves to be with someone like Celine. He really does.
