The two figures fell off the cliff in their loving embrace.

Inko Midoriya was curled around her son Izuku Midoriya who was nearly gone. She could feel his skin colder than it was before in his deformed state.

In a moment of a mother's love she swung her body so she could hit the ground first, and not her poor son.

They then hit the side of the cliff. They landed on a ledge.

Inko Midoriya felt the impact first. The weight of her son on her already frail body broke her. Literally.

She could feel the bones cracking and tearing in her ribs, then a sudden hardness to breathe.

But at least her son hadn't been caught in the fall.

She felt the air in her lung stutter but felt a faint heartbeat from her son.

Had he survived?!

They were both dying. She knew this for sure. So she ushered all the breath she had left and began to sing an old song that had been in their little family for years.

In a grassy meadow
Sheep and cows do feed
The birds are singing high above
In this place we live

Suddenly Inko began to cough loudly and painfully. It wasn't as if her singing was any good. But it might make things easier for her son.

That was what really mattered.

In our house we have a fireplace
Warm and cozy, just for you
We are just waiting for you to come
And live with us, soon.

Struck with a mad urge to continue Inko sang more ferociously

When you arrive there are no troubles
When you come there's peace
When you come back to you family
You will finally rest

Inko could feel her life fading. But the magic of the lullaby was to strong.

You can rest with us
But can not leave
One for one
Or sleep with thee

We will take your granted wish
And trade on thing for one
One for All
And
ALL FOR ONE

Inko felt the life that was left in her leave.

But in her place was a different one.

A boy was lying on his mother's corpse. Unconscious, but a boy.

This was not a monster

This was not a freak

Just a scared teenage boy

Asleep.
