"Mark, your behaviour here is appalling, your grades are falling, I don't know what you're going to do here."
"Mark I know you're a bright kid with a good future, you're just acting out too much."
Mark tapped his feet against the ground and tilted his head back. Sitting in the quiet room was of no ideal position of any high school student, and but for this kid, it's second nature.
"Listen Mark, if you don't change your ways you might be facing suspension or possibly even expulsion."
Principal Kim flipped through stacks of papers and ticked her pen against the desk, looking at mark with a framed perspective of anger.
"Mrs. Kim! it's Donghyuck again."
Hearing that name made Mark's ears ring, he recognised it anywhere. Donghyuck was the schools faint risk, anything mild happened to him he'd be out like a light and being carried away into the nurses office.
"He's going to need someone to look after him. He's fainting left and right! It's not even that hot today."
"Ms. Kang, I think I know what to do for our Donghyuck."
Principal Kim eyed mark closely and let out a small laugh.
"Mark, you're going to look after Donghyuck."
Marks eyes widen and laughed in disbelief. They really expected him, him of all people, to look after the boy that had more bruises on his knees and medication than a regular hospital patient.
"Listen, if you don't want to get suspended or expelled you'll look after Donghyuck. If you don't comply, I'm sure your father would love to hear that his sons going to get suspended."
"Fine, I'll look after the kid. As long as I don't have to deal with puke."
"I can't guarantee that."
"Alright Mark, you'll meet him at his locker before lunch and escort him to his gym class. We're switching you to his grade level as well, him being quite smart must benefit you."
"Is in the faint kid in the A class with a bunch of nerds."
"Minhyung Lee if you do not comply I will call your father."
"all right, don't get your panties in a twist ma'am."
"Minhyung Lee is that how you treat your-"
"Forget it Mrs. Kang."
"Your last lesson in your offset classes will be in period 4, you will meet Donghyuck at lunch at locker number 127, and you will need to take him to his extra co curricular activities."
"And how long am I supposed to be looking after the sick kid."
"Until the end of the semester, that's only 11 weeks from now."
"E-Eleven weeks? You can't expect me to loose my lunch and after school to look after some sick kid."
"remember Mark, if you do not comply you will face suspension or even expulsion. Do we have a deal?"
"Yes we have a deal."
Mark got up and began to walk out of the small, dimly lit office, kicking his chair behind him. He slammed the door shut, making his two superiors jump.
"Are you crazy Taehee, Mark will never survive looking after Donghyuck, he'll faint more than he already does."
"Seulgi, he'll be fine, it's good for the both of them."
"Kim Taehee you cannot be serious? Mark is a dangerous kid."
"If you excuse me Ms. Kang I have a meeting to attend too."
"Tsk."
—
"So Mark will we be seeing you at lunch?"
"Nah, I have 'community service' for Mrs Kim and the faint risk kid."
"Hah, you got the faint risk kid? Ah, I have to help the one weird kid who's eyes go all small when he's smiling, I heard he really stupid."
"What's his name.. Jaeno or something?"
"I have to tutor him after school on Friday and Monday."
"Damn, we got hard lives."
"We sure do."
"Well Mark, you better go find the faint kid."
"Bye bitch."
Mark walked away from his best friend and began to follow the white tiles to locker 127.
119, 120, 121, 122."Uh-um, are you Minhyung?"
"It's mark, who's asking."
"I'm Don-Donghyuck. Mrs Kim said you're um- supposed to look after me or something- kinda like that.."
"Ah, the infamous faint risk kid. Well let's go then, or do you need me to carry you?"
"I-I-I um.."
