hope

You walk in grace, and keep your head above,
You steal glances here and there,
Try to smile with a lift of your lips,
Failing miserably, you sigh with disgrace and disappointment,
I smile quietly at your adorable traits.

I write poems and poems about you,
Do you know?
It always feels like a dam filled to the brim but closed.
I find the strength to talk to you but when my rehearsal finishes,
You're already gone, vanished into thin air.

We both wait for the perfect opportunity, for the perfect introduction,
But what if this is all we get?
What if we loose our leftover courage?
What if we just be, only you and me and not you with me?
