It was quiet in the night, the forest alive but shunned by the shadows that encased it in darkness, shrouding almost every inch, the moonlight grazing certain sections below. It made seeing through the excessive heavy darkness harder. A flashlight would've been quite the wise decision, and yet his stubbornness prevented him from fetching one. Then again, walking out on a semi-cold night was a questionable choice. In fact, he could hear rustling from afar

I was running in the woods, enjoying myself as I was catching squirrels, chasing my tail, it was amazing

Noises became more noticeable causing the gruffy male's eyes to dart around, squinting through shadow after shadow, overlapping.
He could hear footfalls, animals scurrying, both disturbances in the silences striking him nervous yet curious. He proceeded on, footsteps becoming faster

I howl while I run, feeling the cool breeze flowing in my fur. Freedom

A howl fractured the silence that lingered earning him a shiver, a gentle flinch racking his body uncontrollably. It struck him more fear, tension, as he knew without a doubt that wolves ran amok. Again, quite a dumb decision to venture alone in the wilderness. His steps became erratic, fearful to speak

I smell a human as I was hungry. I run towards the scent, spotting my next victim. I growl deeply to let them know I was there

Gavin's eyes flick around as the thundering rhythm of his beating heart grows faster

Gavin's eyes flick around as the thundering rhythm of his beating heart grows faster. A thump here, a pulse and upsurge of adrenaline there. The  growl is the icing on the cake that freezes his troubled steps in their place. He can smell something strong. But it was something words couldn't describe.
Then he sees leering eyes of feral and wild intention gleam through.
"H-holy shit." An exasperated, disbelieving sigh passes his lips.
A werewolf.

I look at him, growling. Circling him. I sniff around as well, giving him my teethy grin

It wasn't the first he had /heard/ of a werewolf. Wolves, vampires, the supernatural. Humans was accustomed to the tales of ferocious creatures lurking among humanity, stealth, instincts, blood-thirsty desires instilled in them. It was mere formality to call them beasts. Gavin's knowledge of them cut short aside from how strong they were, their intelligence equaling humans.
So there was no chance to outsmart such a crafty animal.
"H-hi? .. Jesus Christ you guys are bigger in person..-"

I growl again, as he didn't look scared. I howl really loud, to give him chills down his spine. I wanted to make him scared of his life

Gavin's eyes narrowed, emotions masked by multiple thoughts blooming within his aching head. They came and went, various plans to get you with all his skin and blood intact faltering at his fearful whim.
When another whole erupted into the barren indigo sky a small chuckle forced it's way out. Unintentionally mind you, a thick muddled gulp sliding down his throat.
"Y-you already did that bud- ain't gonna work a second time."

I make a stance and run towards him, biting his arm. I rip his clothes, trying to kill him but he put up a fight

Gavin could barely get out a muffled scream out before his arm was in its jaws, ravaging the skin, the jacket nothing but a nuisance to its crushing strength compacted into a wide muzzle. A muzzle that had killed over and over, blood drenching fur to dirty it beyond cleaning, the stains a trophy.
"FUCK! CANT I JUST GET ONE GOOD DAY OFF?!" Cursing pain erupted from the arm up that spread throughout his quivering body, wincing as the pressure tightened. An unbreakable trap.
"GET OFF YOU MUTT!"

I couldn't kill him so I run off into the wilderness. I guess that human is going to be like me now, see how he likes it. So, I didn't get my human food for tonight but I would not be lonely again as long as I have another one of me

And just like that, a fissure in time that could've ended his life, it was over. Over like that. Attacked by a creature that bowed to survive, to freedom but danger stalking past oblivious victims. He wasn't dead. He.. wasn't dead. He had survived. It dawned on him as fast as the fact the werewolf fleeing. The second thing that dawned on him was brutal reality.
This bite. Stories of being bit by vampires always ended up with the unfortunate prey transforming.
His heart stopped again
Would that also happen to.. werewolves?
He could feel pain fade away, but it linger.
