Chapter 11

It was about mid night and I couldn't sleep. Gabe and I hadn't done anything super terrible, we just kissed.

But after I left his room because he needed sleep, and it was clear. He left me without any sleep.

I rolled over to face the window on my bed, my head spinning.

I couldn't sleep now, I think I found my mate and does he even know? Or does he think I'm just another one of those girls?

Am I even sure Gabriel is my mate?

I was confused.

My face reddened thinking back to the kiss.

I know I loved him, deeply I did. But are we mates?

Still my wolf hasn't came back to me so I didn't really know, usually she guides me with this sort of thing. But she's not here.

I sighed getting out of bed and walking to the kitchen, everyone was asleep, or almost asleep, and I couldn't sleep.

I grab an apple and cut it up into small pieces, then I start munching down on them.

I take a deep breath and open my mouth,"a-a-ah," I give up silently trying to speak.

It's just the word apple, is it really that hard? I know you can do it Dawn.

"A-a-ah-p-pl-e" I whispered shakily.

Well, I can speak, just with a stutter, should have just stayed mute.

"A-a-p-pl-e" I try again, not stuttering so much this time.

"M-my n-n-na-m-m-e i-is D-Da-w-w-n F-Fro-s-st," I whispered. Excitement flowing through me.

"N-no," I smiled, "y-yes," tears started flowing down my cheeks as I lay my head on the table crying with happiness.

I hear someone walk down the stairs and stop when they see me crying. Then a pair of arms around me, warm numbness spread through me. I smiled. Gabriel.

I look up at Gabe, he looks at me, hopelessly smiling.

"G-Ga-Bri-e-l-l, I c-can sp-ea-k," he hugs me like hes never hugged me before.

I stand up off of the chair I had been sitting on and hug him back, my body vibrating from happiness.

He looks down at me smiling, "what's your name?"

"D-da-w-n F-fro-s-st," his smile grows.

"What's my name?"

"G-gab-r-riel A-Ar-Tic," I smiled at him, we embrace again.

"I'm proud of you Dawn," his hug tightens.

And for the rest of the night we talk. And for once, it didn't sound one sided.

"I was looking for you this mornin," Cali chuckles as she walks in talking to me.

She grabs a bowl getting cereal, "so-rry," she drops the bowl and the cearal.

"You can talk!" She throws her hands in the air and hugs me. "Since when?"

"Last ni-ght," I smile at her.

"She's getting better, isn't she?" Gabriel looks at his sister.

She smiles, "wow, go girl," she high fives me. I loved seeing Cali happy, it really did put me in a better mood. Helps me forget my abusive past.

Leo marches in, "do we have a visitor? I heard someone speak that I don't recognize the voice of."

"That w-would be me," I raised my hand.

Right then, Leo drops to the floor. He had fainted. I chuckled as Gabriel gets him back up and dusts him off just as Leo wakes back up.

"You can speak! I knew you had it in you, you little-" Leo starts giving me a noogie on the top of my head. I felt Gabriel's hand on my leg while his eyes were narrowed at Leo. Was he getting jealous of someone else touching me?

I chuckle trying to get him to stop.

Eventually he does.

Cali and Leo leave with their food in hand.

As I keep sitting down on the chair at the table, Gabriel grabs my hand. It was like the world had stopped the way Gabriel looked at me, his other hand had went to my jaw.

He moved closer, his breath on my lips teasing me. He closes the space between us, his lips gentle, slow, soft. He had a caring touch.

I felt butterflies in my stomach, nervousness but calmness in me, tingles surging through my body, my heart thumping rapidly against my ribcage. My chest hurting.
