derek got involved in crime younger than you'd expect. crime is practically in his blood, his mother also being a criminal much like himself. he was taught from a young age to steal, to hurt people to get what he needed. much like himself, his mother also fled the country to escape, and left him to begin his own empire. he did just that, and he thrives off of what he does. he's a usually very focused person, and very charismatic. people are quick to like him, despite the fact he's such a bad guy. he knows what words to use, and what to say. though the man can be cold hearted during the job, he has learned to separate his work self from who he really is.
