NEYMAR'S POV
Marc. He was Bella's friend? No frikken way was I going to lunch out with him.
I searched for a way to escape before Bella would see me.
Too late. She kissed me on the cheek and led me to their table.
Okay first of all, she probably thought she could kiss me anytime now just because she kissed me last night and I hadn't pushed her away because that would be sort of rude. And secondly, we were not an item. She was probably sending the wrong messages to everyone now.
The media would catch us soon and I couldn't even begin to imagine what things Bruna would be thinking when she saw the two of us together. What happened to her lately anyway?
The table was occupied by three other people; this chick with an auburn sort of coloured hair and this chick with darker hair. And then this shithead I've actually known for years.
"Marc." I mumbled. He seemed to have heard me and looked up.
"Neymar! How's it been going? Haven't seen you since the end of March or April, can't seem to remember." He said.
"It's been great. And you?" I despised having to be in Barcelona with him. When I found out he was there, I almost quit and went back to Santos.
"I've been good as well."
Bella had her arm linked into mine and we sat down, me in front of Marc.
An angry atmosphere surrounded the table. It was a little unpleasant having to see this idiot when I wasn't supposed to be seeing him until October later that year.
"Where's Cara?" I asked. She was the only reason I actually agreed to come here to. At least someone real I could talk to was Cara.
"She went outside for a little air." Bella seemed to cling to me, her eyes pleading me not to go.
"I'll go check up on her." I walked off, hands in my pockets and head hung low so no one could recognise me.
The smell of the salty Cabocabana waters reminded me of many memories made here.
A girl in a bright blue dress sat with one leg over the other on a wooden chair, staring into the ocean.
"Cara?" I asked and sat across from her. "Are you okay?"
She suddenly snapped out from her trance and smiled. "I'm fine. Have you visited Rafaella?"
I was going to ask what she was thinking about but she obviously didn't want to go into that subject.
"Yes, I have actually. She was being immature again last night. Sometimes I wish she could just watch out for her friends more."
"Rafa's a great friend. Let her be young and free. Not many kids realise how much they'll miss being free from drama and shit until they don't have the chance to keep on living like that." She smiled. Cara was different, you know? How could someone be so understanding?
We continued to look out into the ocean. It wasn't an awkward silence. It was one of those silences where you could just relax.
The waves were high but many unattended kids were still wading in the water.
Parents came to take their children away but one kid stayed all alone.
I saw as he was submerged by the water.
"Merda." Cara and I instantly left our seats and ran as fast as we could to y
the water.
No one else had seemed to see.
The water felt cold against my skin and the baggy pants I was wearing made it harder to move.
"Bebe!" We called.
Cara dived into the water. I wanted to tell her I would go instead. Before she left, she never learned to swim properly. And she nearly drowned once.
I couldn't let that happen again.
I waited for her, hoping she would resurface quickly but at the same time wading around, looking for the lost baby.
Some hair flicked into my face and I heard crying. I turned around and saw Cara, a relieved grin across her face.
"Thank god you're okay." I said and she smiled back.
The toddler cried in her arms.
We waded back to the beach, my arm around Cara's waist to make sure she was steady as the water was still strong.
We got into the sand and Bella saw my arm around Cara's waist and flinched. Jealous much?
"Oh my gosh. Thank you. Obrigado, obrigado." The baby girl's parents came and grabbed her from Cara who received hugs and I got a smile and wave.
"You're welcome." Cara beamed and I wrapped my arm around her shoulders.
"You were really brave out there." I said.
"Well, I guess it was my turn to do the saving." She laughed and we walked up to Bella and co. together.
"You were like so manly to do that Neymar." Bella commented and held my hand to pull me away from Cara.
She pulled me further from the group and I looked back at Cara who stood awkwardly with Marc, Ariadne and Chelsea questioning her.
"What were you doing with her? You were like all over her." She whined.
"Okay, your definition of all over is completely different to mine. And why do you care? It's not like I'm with you or anything?"
"What? So what about all the dates and the kiss?"
"What about them? We've been on one date and you were the one who kissed me!" I argued.
Anger flashed in her eyes. Her blue and brown eyes.
"What's up with your eyes?" I asked and pointed to them.
"Crap." She mumbled. "What's wrong with them?"
"Ones blue and one's brown."
"Haven't they always been like that?" She asked innocently.
"No, they're usually blue aren't they?" I said.
"No."
"What's with your hair too? Since when did you have a brown underlayer?" I asked. Funny how I knew these hairstyle terms, wait, I went to the hairdresser often...
"Nothing at, at all. What are you talking about? Neymar, you're seeing things." She said and played with her hair.
"Cut the act Bruna."
A/N: Okay, first things first. I have nothing against Marc Bartra. I love him - a lot. His look just seemed perfect for the role though.
Secondly, CHELSEA you finally got a part in the book haha. Don't worry you won't always be an itchbay throughout the book.
Lastly, thanks for the votes and comments and follows! <3
