This isn't really a story, but I read that artists in the 1700s and 1800s apparently painted things into their paintings of people that represented some part of the subject's life. This intrigued me . . .
For example:
This is a terrible picture I took of part of a portrait of Alexander Hamilton. As you can see, his hand is in what I would consider to be a horrifying position. Could this be representing the fact that he wrote so much that he got Carpal Tunnel? Perhaps. Further evidence for this theory includes the fact that his hand is sitting next to a quill and some ink wells.
Just something to think about . . .
