Normani yawned as she wandered down the aisles of Walmart, it was currently 10 pm and she was tired. She's been drowned in homework and was finally free, as of now she wanted nothing more than to buy a tub of butter pecan ice cream along with some other snacks and curl under a warm blanket to watch a movie.
She would be alone for the night being that Zendaya was out with her new fling, rolling her eyes at the thought while she strolled to the aisle where they kept the ice cream. In the midst of reading the signs, paying attention to her path became a bit nonexistent so she wasn't surprised when her legs hit something.
Looking down, her eyes soon widened and she crouched down instantly, helping the small body up.
"I'm sorry, are you okay?" She panicked, she searched the child's face for any sign that she may be hurt but found nothing. Instead she received a nod and a smile.
"I'm okay, I just have to find my mommy."
Normani frowned. "You lost your mommy?" She asked as she stood up straight and the girl nodded once again. "I can help you find her."
The little girl looked at the hand that was being held out and thought about it carefully, she wasn't allowed to go with strangers but she needed to find her mommy and the girl seemed nice. She hesitantly took her hand.
"My name is Normani, how about you?" She asked, attempting to make the girl feel a bit more comfortable. After all she was a stranger but she just wanted to help the child find her mother before she ran into someone with ill intentions.
"Blue." She said as she scrunched her face, the lady's name seemed so familiar to her.
"Blue?" Normani questioned as they looked around, she nodded with a hum. "I like it."
"I like your name too."
"Thanks." Normani smiled. "How old are you?"
"Seven." Blue smiled back. "How old are you?"
"I'm twenty."
"You're not that old." Blue mumbled as they walked down aisle five.
"Did you think I was that old?"
"No." Blue giggled with a shake of her head. "It's just I never really know, my mommy's kind of old but she looks young."
Normani laughed. "Do you remember the last place you saw your mom? Maybe she's looking for you in that area."
Blue nodded. "We were picking out things for my science project, it was a lot of school stuff there."
Normani nodded and led Blue to where her mother might have been, they looked around. "Do you see her?"
Blue nodded happily. "Mommy!" She called out excitedly, Normani smiled as she looked down at Blue but she soon froze when she got a look at her mother.
"Blue! What did I tell you about wandering off?" Beyoncé yelled while freeing Blue of Normani's hand, not even noticing her student as she picked her daughter up. "I was looking all over for you. I even asked people to help me, I was so close to c-"
"It's okay mommy! The pretty girl Normani helped me."
"Normani?" Beyoncé repeated, she watched Blue nod her head happily before pointing to where the young woman stood awkwardly.
"I bumped into her, she told me she couldn't find her mom so I helped." Normani began, she had no idea Professor Knowles was Blue's mom but glancing at the two, it made sense. She could now see the resemblance.
"Thank you."
"No problem." Normani mumbled as she watched her professor put her daughter down. "I'm glad you found your mommy, Blue."
