At first Beyoncé didn't think much of it, Normani was a college student with a job after all. But after awhile things started to become weird. First, she was too busy then she was too tired and finally, she stopped replying altogether.
Beyoncé didn't want to face the fact that Normani was no longer interested in whatever they had. So somehow she convinced herself that maybe Normani needed to be solo for a bit, that she'd come crawling back when she got all the alone time she sought.
And Beyoncé truly believed that.
Up until three days ago.
"Hamilton, can I speak to you for a minute?"
Body language was everything to Bey. She watched Normani intently, the way her shoulders slumped, her smile disappearing with quickness and a subtle roll of eyes.
"Give me a sec, 'kay?" Normani directed towards Blair, he nodded which let her know he'd wait for her. A sigh fell from her lips as she turned to face her professor, making very little eye contact while they waited for the rest of the students to exit.
"Hey." Beyoncé broke silence after the last student closed the door, her eyes on the latter who was 'fixing' the strap of her bag. Beyoncé knew well enough to know it was her way of avoiding eye contact.
"Hey?"
Beyoncé raised an eyebrow at the way it sounded, almost as if Normani was wondering why she was talking to her.
"I been texting you, I even called some."
Normani scratched at the back of her neck and nodded slowly. "Yeah. Does this have anything to do with your class or not? I have another class to attend."
Ouch.
"I was just wondering why you haven't got back to me."
"Been busy with school and work. Also, I'm seeing someone so I think we should end whatever this is." She smiled coyly, gesturing between them while doing so.
"Seeing someone?" She couldn't have heard correctly, just two weeks ago Normani was asking 'what are we?' and now she was seeing someone, unbelievable. "That fast?"
Normani scoffed. "What are you implying?"
"I'm saying, we only haven't talked in two weeks and you're-"
"With all due respect, professor." She cut her off, putting emphasis on the word professor as she continued to talk. "I'm a single woman, always have been, you made that clear two weeks ago so I explored my options. Someone has peaked my interest so I'm putting all my focus on to them, now, I have to get going. Enjoy your day."
Normani took off immediately, she didn't give Beyoncé a chance to respond. She wasn't about to let her finesse her with her way of words.
Beyoncé knew then that it was over. Sighing softly, looking at Normani's most recent picture on her Instagram. Every since Normani's news, she'd been stalking her Instagram. She had plans to find this person and tell them to stay away from Normani.
Sure, it sounded crazy but it would get Normani's attention and give her ammunition to confront her. They would probably argue and have makeup sex, she might even scare this new person away.
She was waiting to see if Normani would post this person or if they'd comment on any of her posts. Any slip up would be adequate.
She also stalked to admire how beautiful she looked. Each picture made her realize how badly she wanted to be between her thighs. It was almost as if it was a craving. Normani was a drug and she seemed to be having withdrawals.
