thank god. i just had one more stop until i was at central station and i'm petrified. charlottes house is a 5 minute walk from the station. the train comes to a holt 'mind the step' echoes through the carriage. heart racing i step off the train.
i get to the address charlotte gave me, number 79, i have serious butterflies in my stomach, i reach for the knocker and knock three times. "charlotte darling! could you get the door?" i hear what i assume is charlottes mum shouting "yeah!" she shouts back. i feel like my hearts gonna explode as i hear footsteps from inside. the door handle clicks and the door swings open. "george!" she nearly shouts with her hands covering her mouth. she takes her hand away and beams at me. "hey" i say she pulls me into a tight embrace, she lets go and invites me inside "mam!" she calls, a sweet faced lady appears from the doorway of the kitchen wearing a red apron "yes dear?" "this is george" she gestures towards me, i smile at her "oh hello dear" charlottes mum says "hi" i say slightly shyly, "my name is Matilda" she says "nice to meet you" i smile again. charlotte tugs on my jacket sleeve and i follow her upstairs to her room.
we chat and laze around on her bed, taking mugshots of each other and a few genuinely nice photos. ________________________________ @legitmemeulous
