Don't read the summary if you haven't read the first book yet as it may contain some spoilers but you can read my opinion because it in no way spoils what happens.

Chuck's been through hell and back, and is slowly making his recovery. After the successful surgery, he's slowly integrating himself back into a "normal life". He's slowly starting to become the pre-cancer boy that the entire school worshipped.
Chuckie's stood by his brother the entire time, and he's ready to help Chuck and do whatever he can to get him back on top, while dealing with his own problems, of course. Such as Amber, the Queen Bitch, his girlfriend.
Neither one of the boys expect what's coming, and when it hits it strikes with a vengeance. Now they must learn to live life a new way, and it takes a toll on the entire family.

Opinion:
So basically it's a complete continuation of the first book, it's definitely not one of those sequels where you don't want to read it because it might spoil the story, the story picks up right where it left off and continues on with Chucks journey, I don't want to spoil it by saying too much but basically it's just a really good book with lots of realistic outcomes and emotions.
