I don't know how, I don't know why

Maybe it's faith that

I keep bumping into her wherever I go

We become closer than before

I get to know her more than I know her before

I get to see her more than just glances after training

Went to buy groceries one time,

She was there too, buying fruits for her and Thomas

We talked

Went to buy a dinner at Nando's

She was there, buying the same thing as I did

Our favourite menu

We share the same favourite menu

Turns out, the café where I met her

When I had my blind date with Lea

(She told me her name after I called her Lily

And she slapped me after)

It's Denise's favourite hang out place

She told me,

'This place is never too full, never too empty

And that makes this place so,'

Then she paused, thinking for the best word

To describe her favourite café

'Peaceful?'

I suggested, as I lift my cup of caramel coffee to my mouth

And took a sip of the delicious drink

She looked at me in the eyes,

Those shimmering sapphire eyes staring back at me,

And she flashed me this overpowering smile that

I have never seen before that made me want to kiss her

Right there, at that exact time

Her smile made me want to

Grab both of the side of her face and bring her face to mine

And then, I would kiss her as though there's no tomorrow

I would place my right palm on her nape, through her hair

And deepened the kiss

And I would smile in triumph

And tell myself,

'Well done, Manu,

You got her

You finally got the woman of your dream.'

I imagined that she would kiss me back

And I would literally taste her black coffee in my mouth

As our tongues interwined together,

As our lips locked against each other,

As they move in a perfect rhythm

But it never happened

I didn't kiss her that day

And I don't think it will ever happen
