"What are you working on now, Akechi-kun?"

"I was asked to look for a specific person," I said.

"A specific person? Someone asked you to track this person down?"

"Yes."

"Who could of asked you?"

"A Shujin Academy third year student. She was quite nice to me. She even served me coffee as a sign of gratitude."

"Who is this person you're looking for?"

"Hayata L/N."

"L/N? He was famous before he disappeared."

"He was. I am going to get to the bottom of this if it's the last thing I do."

"Don't work yourself too hard, Akechi-kun. Remember, you need to take care of yourself as well as do your job."

"I understand that, Sae-san."

"Good. I hoped you would understand that."

"And what about you, Sae-san?"

"What about me?"

"You work hard as well, but you don't care for your sister you have."

"My sister is more than capable of taking care of herself."

"I don't disagree, but maybe you should take time off and spend time with your sister."

"I just can't do that, Akechi-kun. I have a lead on the Phantom Thieves and I won't stop until I get my hands on them."

"You are quite the hard worker."

"And what about you, Akechi-kun? You've been in here ever since you got here."

"I wanted to get cracking down on this case before I returned back to the mental shutdown case."

Sae-san sighed (Say that five times fast XD), "I guess you can have more than one case open."

"Besides, this was a request. The mental shutdowns can be put on hold."

"No they cannot, Akechi-kun."

I turned and looked at Sae, "They can and they will. I am making sure I can get a lead on this guy before I return to my other work."

"Why are you interested in this guy anyways? We were tasked to look into his case about three weeks ago. We closed it about two weeks ago."

"It appears I was absent when that happened. What did they rule?"

"He had disappeared and was probably dead somewhere. Case closed."

"But I am reopening it for the sake of his daughter."

"Is this why you're looking for him? To get a girl?"

"Yes and no."

"Explain yourself, Akechi-kun."

"I am looking at getting this girl, but not as a girlfriend. Just a friend."

"Could she be your possible first friend?"

"I guess you could say that."

"I'll let you in on one detail about him."

"I'm listening."

"He was last seen in Shinjuku. That was about two and a half weeks ago."

"Do you know his profession?"

"He was like you, Akechi-kun. A detective."

"I see. He is the famous Hayata L/N after all. No wonder his name seemed familiar."

"I'll leave this investigation to you then," Sae-san said and walked out.

I looked at all the files I had laid out. I circled Shinjuku on the map and placed a sticky note on it. I sat down at my computer and retrieved some things from the archives. I printed them out and placed them with the other information I had.

"Looks like I am heading to Shinjuku tomorrow."

I followed this guy throughout the hospital and into a room. There was a crowd of people surrounding the hospital bed.

"Excuse me," the man said and the people there made a path for me. He extended his hand, motioning me to head towards the bed.

I nervously walked towards the bed to see my mother was laying on a hospital bed.

"Mom?!" I said and rushed over to her side.

Her left eye was swollen and her right eye was badly bruised. There were cuts along her face and her arm was in a sling. Her legs were the worst from what everyone was saying around me. I stood there with fear in my eyes.

"What happened?" I whispered.

"She was caught in the train incident. She wanted to be there when you got home from working and she took that train. She didn't see the full brunt of the accident, but she was still severely injured," said one of her co-workers.

I just nodded my head and sat down. I didn't know what to do.

"When will she wake up?"

"They wanted her to sleep until morning. She won't be waking up soon."

I nodded my head once more and sighed, trying not to cry.

"What am I going to do?"

"Do as you would normally," said the man who led me here. "Your mother would not want you to stop just because this happened to her. Would she?"

"N-no she wouldn't."

"Good. Now, head back home and get ready for school tomorrow. I will be more than happy to drive you home."

"Thank you," I said and got up.

I followed him out of the hospital and into his car. While he drove me back home, I didn't say a word. I tried not to cry on the way home. He pulled into the driveway of my house.

"Thank you," I said and got out of his car. I opened the door and headed inside. I locked it and started to cry. I slowly sat down onto the ground and buried my head between my legs. I cried for what felt like hours. I pulled myself together and took a quick shower. I got ready for bed and fell onto my bed. I stared at the ceiling. I couldn't fall asleep and I had no one to turn to. I guess Akira or Eiko, but they're probably sleeping. I didn't want to wake them up if they were sleeping. I just grabbed my phone and looked through some social media. After a while, I put my phone down on the side table and fell asleep. Hopefully tomorrow would be better.
