newt scamander is literally the guy who pretends to hate the girl he’s in love with and then hundreds of pictures of her just spill out of his pockets and he embarrassedly tries to stuff them back in, all the while still pretending to loathe her; except newt’s not pretending to hate tina because he loves her and he doesn’t even hide it - everyone knows, mate (except her, of course) - and he does carry a crinkled up picture of porpentina goldstein, the love of his life, with him, but it doesn’t even fall out, he takes it out and shows it to her, letting her know what a lovesick fool he is and that her eyes are like a salamander’s
