Make sure to punctuate dialogue correctly.

Needs to be between 500 - 1,000 words. This means you must start the conflict early.

There must be something at risk or something that could be lost in order for the story to have something the reader cares about. This is how you have the main conflict in your story.

Your main character wakes up and it's a perfectly normal day. However, when he or she calls their significant other, they discover their name is not in their phone. They soon discover that their loved one no longer exists. Everyone seems to think this person is crazy since they have absolutely no idea who this loved one is.

Write a story about one person from a past relationship calling the other person out of the blue. The other person has no idea why contact is being made. This person from a previous relationship is telling the other person that he or she has a secret to share.

Write a story where the main character truly feels they love someone but is put in a situation where they have to betray them.
