As I entered the pack house, what I expected was a group of teenagers to be wandering around talking at the top of their voices.

But what I didn't expect was silence. And that's exactly what I got.
Complete and utter silence, as if nobody lived there.

Just a huge, magnificent building in the middle of the forest, totally abandoned by living beings but probably filled with a dozen ghosts.
Sounds great. I rolled my eyes.

Slowly I made my way inside the huge hall looking for someone. I need to know where my room is in this giant maze. Like seriously, there are doors and staircases almost everywhere. How is someone supposed to find their way around?

Walking aimlessly, I entered a different area which turned out to be the Kitchen. And a pretty big one at that.
With a pack this huge, you definitely need a bigger kitchen.

Luckily for me, I saw a petite brunette cooking something on the stove.
Finally, I sighed.

She had her back towards me so she didn't hear me coming. Slowly I entered the kitchen.

" Um.. excuse me?" I called out.
She turned around to look at me, and as she did, I started regretting ever calling her. I know her, Harper.

She looked at me in confusion, her brown eyes trying to decifer who I was.

Keep it together Destiny. She won't recognize you.

I faked a smile and stepped forward leaving my stuff at the door.

I extended my hand for a handshake and said as politely as possible.
" Hi, I'm Destiny. "

It seemed to snap her out of her daze and she shook my hand
" Ohh.. Hi Destiny, I'm Harper." She returned the smile.

" I'm sorry I didn't recognize you. Do we know each other? " She asked.

Yeah we do.
" Not really. " I said. " I've never been to this pack before. I'm new here. Alpha Joseph has sent me- "

" To guard Olivia. " She completed for me.

" Exactly. " I said, giving her a tight smile.

" I knew you were coming today but of course I'll forget about it. "
She said shaking her head.
" There's been a lot going on. "
She said before returning to the stove.

" What's wrong? " I asked. " I mean it's strange, there was literally no one when I entered.. "

" Oh don't worry about that. It's Sunday everyone's out with their families. " She smiled

" That's nice. " I said.

" You didn't go? " I asked. "If you don't mind me asking of course. "

" Can't leave Livy alone. Someone has to take care of her. " She replied.

" Um.. Livy? " I asked confused.

" Short for Olivia. " She said smiling.

" Anyways I'm making some pancakes for me and her, you want some? " She offered.

You can't say no to food right?
" Sounds great." I smiled.

All this smiling is going to give me a headache. And I don't think that's normal.

" She loves chocolate chip pancakes. "

Harper said as she stacked the pancakes on the plate covering them with chocolate syrup.

Olivia, Devlin's daughter. I took a deep breath. Last time I say her, she was just a baby, sleeping peacefully in her mother's arms. Of course, now she is much older.
But she is still a child. My revenge is from her father so I'll make sure she is not involved.
