What really defines 'love'?

Others long for love,

To have a partner, to feel appreciated.

Me?

I fear love.

Hurt?

Hurt is love.

Love?

Love is giving away your heart.

But you get theirs in return.

I gave mine away.

But it came back shattered.

My heart is a puzzle,

But some of the pieces are missing.

It is impossible to make amends.

But you?

You shared your heart,

You made me feel safe.

But it can't be perfect, right?

That's why I can't be yours.

Obstacles keep us apart,

First her, but soon a little tart.
