I walk into the building for the first time and see a bunch of people walking around. It's kind of similar to the colleges back in America. People walking around on their phones or with someone else. The only problem is that I don't know anyone. My roommate was supposed to be helping me today but she got sick so here I am. A lost college sophomore in South Korea for the first time. I was really looking forward to doing this whole foreign exchange student thing but that was before realizing how annoying my roommate was. I mean sure she helped me at the airport and on the way to her apartment and literally with everything else. I wouldn't have been surprised if she decided to help me in the shower.
The only problem is that one of the few times I actually need her help, she isn't here. I haven't moved from my spot. I've been trying to study the map of the school they gave me in the office but it makes no sense! I don't even know where I'm standing right now. The halls start to look more empty which indicates that everyone is getting to their class. Everyone except for me. I decide to just start walking and to try to make out where I'm going. As I round the corner, I bump into someone and watch as their books scatter everywhere.
"Fuck, I'm so sorry," I say before begin to help with the mess. "But honestly it's not my fault. Have you ever heard of a book bag?" I say under my breath. The guy laughs a little so I look up at him. He has brown hair in a sort of bowl haircut and adorable brown eyes.
"I heard that," he shakes his head. I finish gathering the random papers and place them on top of his books.
"Well, can't say sorry for that one," I shrug.
"Wasn't expecting in, in fact I wasn't expecting you to help with the books either." He's still smiling. Why is he smiling?
"Since I helped you out do you think you could give me a hand real quick. It's my first day and I didn't take a tour of the place so I'm completely lost," I explain. He looks at me as if he's contemplating whether he should actually help or not. It's not like I'm asking him for an arm or a leg. I just need help getting to class.
"Sure what's up," he finally says. I go up to him and open the map.
"Okay so I need to get to room 300 in building A but this map is confusing as hell," I say. He looks at the map then back at me. Then he squints his eyes and looks back at the map and back at me.
"Hmmm." He puts his fingers on his chin like he's thinking really hard. "Interesting," he says before looking at me. "Your first problem is that you have the map upside down, genius," he scoffs making me turn slightly red. "And the second thing is that you're already in building A. Have you ever heard of counting?" he mocks. I roll my eyes because I just made a complete fool out of myself.
"Thank you....whatever your name is," I mumble as I begin to walk away.
"Jungkook," he says after me. I turn around and face him.
"Excuse me?" I say.
"My name? Jungkook," he clarifies and makes sure to tag a small smile at the end. I smile back at him.
"Well thank you Jungkook." I turn around and start walking again.
"See you around Vivian!" he yells after me making me shake my head. I come up to a sign that has class information on it. This building is 3 stories high and the room I need to get to is on the third floor which honestly makes sense since it's the room 300. I go to the elevator and see a huge out of order sign. Of course. Jungkook could've told me where the classroom was or at least to take the stairs that were right where we were standing.
I start to walk back to the stairs but at the same time I'm admiring the place. The floors are made up of shiny black tiles and the windows let in plenty of sunlight. I might actually go to the park after this just because I seriously dislike my roommate. I go up the stairs and feel a bit creeped out. The halls are so quiet. I finally make it to class 300 and open the door. This class is so fucking huge. It's pretty much an auditorium and currently everyone is staring at me because I accidentally slammed the damn door.
"Well, now that you have arrived late and did quite an entrance could you take a seat?" the professor says with an irritated look. A few people whisper and others actually laugh at me. I already know my face is as red as a damn tomato. I look at the back row and see Jungkook laughing his ass off along with some other guys. The fucker has this class?! He couldn't walk with me or something?!
I'm not even embarrassed anymore. I take the seat nearest to me, not even caring enough to look who I just sat beside. I take out my laptop and straighten myself. First days suck anyway. As I turn on my laptop and my name flashes it hits me.....how did he know my name?
