Andrew knew the significance of Halloween in the wizarding world and had since he was two years old. His dad and mom, however, disagreed about how it should be celebrated. So it was no surprise to him when an owl dropped a small box on the table in front of him wrapped in brown paper with a bow knot made of string

"do you know what it is?" David asked as he picked up the box and shook it

"it's probably some sweets because we can't go trick or treating this year." Andrew grabbed the box and pulled the string that held the paper together but instead of opening the knot Seemed to get tighter

"you should just rip the paper and throw it away." David suggested

"I will untie this knot." was the last thing Andrew said on the subject

"have you thought about what you saw in the cave?" David asked "any ideas about getting the ninroot?" it was then they realised then the person sitting on Andrew's other side was looking at them. A girl, green eyes, platinum blond hair tied in a ponytail, black marks around her eyes.

"hello." Andrew said extending his arm "I'm Andrew King." she took it and shuck

"I'm Angela Reed," she said with a hint of an Irish accent "did you say something about needing ninroot?"

"no," David said "absolutely not." he looked down at his food

"what are you saying?" Andrew asked David before turning to face Angela "yes we are." he said, "you wouldn't happen to know anything about it?"

"yes," she said, "you could find some in a secret compartment in the supply closet in the dungeon." she looked into his eyes with a look of excitement.

The lessons that followed came and went leaving Andrew sitting in the main hall waiting David was nowhere to be seen. Footsteps could be heard by everyone as a man walked into the main hall wearing a purple turban

"Troll -- in the dungeons -- thought you ought to know." he fell to the floor unmoving. Screams drowned out all of Andrew's thoughts as he looked at the man on the floor, his chest rising and falling. It took the sound of several loud firecrackers. Throughout this, David seemed calm.

"prefects!" the calming voice of dumbledore said, "lead your Houses back to the dormitories immediately!" Thomas panicked more than the students under his care.

Thomas lead the students, Andrew at the back, through the corridors, around corners and upstairs until Andrew felt a hand grab the sleeve of his robe and pull him into a classroom. He was looking at Angla Reed.

"what are you doing?!" Andrew asked as he looked around the room

"I'm trying to have a private conversation with you." she said

"there's a troll in the castle. You should be in your dorm room" Andrew said as he made his way to the door.

"I thought the troll would be a good distraction. We could steal the ninroot while everyone is distracted by the troll." she explained as she blocked the door

"why didn't you tell me when we first got here?" Andrew asked "plus the troll is in the dungeons where the ninroot is. I don't think a couple of first-year students could take down a troll."

"I don't think the troll is in the dungeons anymore." she said, "I think I heard it earlier moving towards the girl's toilets." they both left the classroom and walked trough corridor after corridor

"let's hope no one is in there."

Andrew and Angela didn't speak as they made their way through the corridors and down staircase after staircase until they were hit by the damp, warm air of the dungeons "is this really where you sleep?" he asked. He could feel his forehead because damper by the second
