iii. chapter 2;; lunch

Gray's POV

The bell rang signalling for lunch time I quickly stood up and swung my backpack over my shoulder

I raced outside the class bumping to some students I finally reached the cafeteria and saw students talking to each other

I saw the line was long I sighed and just sat somewhere alone

Darwin wasn't here he was already in college I just wished he was here with me I sighed as I shuffled from my back and brought out my book

I saw a little basket inside it I quickly pulled it out it was wrapped in a pink baking sheet with a ribbon tied to it I saw a note

'Thought you'd like some'

I smiled to myself and opened it the basket contained strawberry macaroons suddenly someone grabbed one without permission

“Hey- what the fuck dude!?.” I groaned as I stood up

The two guys just snickered at me as students stared at us

“Freak. ” One boy said as he pushed me I stumbled back he suddenly grabbed the book that was sitting there and started tearing the pages

I clenched my jaw and tackled him I started punching his face “Die. ” I say as I kept punching him the other boy pulled me off him as he held me off

“GRAY!. ” Someone yelled as the boy was suddenly off me

I looked up it was Darwin he looked down at me “Are you okay?.” he mumbled as I just nodded

Students were looking at us as Darwin grabbed my stuff and the macaroons he looked at all of them

“Please refrain your fucking hands off my sister and if I see ONE fucking hair out of her head I won't hesitate to fucking shoot all of you.” he glared at all of them and the two boys who was on the floor they were scared

He walked back to me and held my hand both of us walking out of the cafeteria

“Why are you here?. ” I mumbled not looking up at him as he continued walking at the halls.

He sighed “I came to check on you I know something bad will happen and of course to make sure you won't run away. ” he was suddenly stopped by the security guard

Darwin grumbled and showed his college ID “I'm taking her she was bullied. ” he says sternly as we walked out of the school leaving the guard dumbfounded

The both of us sat on the stairs outside the school I grabbed one macaroon and started munching it

Darwin looked at me as he put my head on his shoulder

“I'm really sorry Gray. ” he says as he looked away from me I was wondering whe he was apologizing when he literally saved my butt out there

I scrunched my nose “Why are you apologizing you saved me. ” I say as he chuckled shaking his head

“I embarrassed you. ” he says as he smiled at me I shrugged and looked away grabbing another macaroon

“ You didn't though. ”

Suddenly someone went out I looked behind me to see Billy and the other boy

Darwin looked behind too as we watched the two boys take a seat next to us

“That was awesome. ” The boy who had curly hair blurted out as I laughed

“Oh- I'm Freddy Freeman.” the boy says as he reached his hand out for me to shake

I looked at Darwin who seems to be suspicious but nodded anyways I shook his hand “Gray. ” I say as we pulled our hand away

“We know you introduced yourself earlier. ” Billy says as he smiled at me I smiled back I grabbed the small basket and offered them macaroons

“Here.” I say they looked at me I just nod my head they hesitated at first but grabbed one anyway

Darwin stood up and stretched his arms out “I gotta go Gray. ” he paused and looked at the two boys

“Watch her for me.” he says pointing at me I glared at him and rolled my eyes playfully

The two of them nodded anyway Darwin smiled as he waved goodbye I looked at the two boys

They looked back at me and smiled “So are you guys blood related or--. ”

“No were all foster kids.. ” Billy says as he looked at me smiling I nodded and smiled back

“He ran away from foster homes too you know but then he decided to stay with us.. ” Freddy says as he pats Billy's back

I chuckled shaking my head “I'm running away cause I'm better off alone I never really understood the true meaning of a family.” I paused for a while thinking if I should tell them

“I've never been love by my own family.. ” I sighed as the two boys looked at each other and back down they felt pity for me

Billy got up and sat to my right while Freddy scoots next to me now I was between them

“Give the ones who adopted you a chance Gray it doesn't feel like home but it will. ” Freddy says as he looked at me with sympathy

I nodded Billy looked at me and said

“If your new family can't love you then we will.. ” Billy says as he looked at Freddy smiling
