Chapter 1: New York and New Beginnings.

HEIDI

"We're lost." I sigh.

"We're not lost." Landon replies, his face covered by a huge map of the New York subway route.

"We're lost." Dylan groans.

"We're not l-" Landon looks up from the map. "Okay so maybe we're a little lost."

"I knew it! I knew we shouldn't have trusted Lanny with the map!"

I shoot him an 'Are you serious' look. "Dylan, you literally took a plane to New Jersey instead of New York."

"Easy mistake." He shrugs.

"Not at all." Landon and I shake our heads in unison.

"Well now we're lost." Sherlock aka Dylan declares.

"If you're so clever why don't you try!" Landon glares at him.

"Well if you gave me the map maybe I would!"

"Well how about you-"

"How about we ask someone for help?" I try to say calmly, even though I've nearly lost my shiz with these two.

"Ew social interaction." Dylan shakes his head.

"Ew people." Landon says in disgust.

"My knights in shining armour..." I mumble getting up.

I approach the first person I see and tap his shoulder.

No response.

I tap again.

Bad mistake.

The muscular giant in a tank top turns around, sporting one the scariest glares I've ever seen on his face.

"I uh... I'm just gonna... go way over... there." I nervously smile whilst walking backwards.

Never approach a stranger on a subway. Noted.

Landon pulls me onto his lap giving me a playful smile. "That went well."

"Oh shut up." I lean back resting my head on his shoulder.

"The next stop is Jackson Heights." The lady on the speaker announces.

"Yay we're nearly there!" Dylan claps.

"We're in Queens." Landon deadpans.

"Exactly."

Is he serious? "We're meant to be in Manhattan."

"We are?"

"Ugh!" The two of us groan.

***

The three of slump back onto Zuko's bed. Whilst Dylan and I are living in the Julliard dorms, Landon's staying in the fanciest hotel I've ever seen.

Makes sense since his parents are so rich.

Speaking of Landon's parents, they weren't the happiest about Landon deciding not to go to college and stay in New York instead.

Landon wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him. He smiles down at me.

"What are you smiling at?"

He shrugs. "I just love you."

I roll my eyes amusedly. "You're cheesy."
