Chapter 2

"BUT, there's coffee in the cafetaria" I said with an eyeroll

"Nah I want a salty caramel"

"Can we just go after school?"

"No"

I gave up and just nodded, then he held out his hand for me to hold I looked at him then  looked at his hand and just roughly grabbed it and made our way to the exit

"Where do you think you two are going?" said a woman's voice with curiousity in it

We both halted and quickly let go of each other's hand

I turned around and saw The Vice Principal with her hands folded, a serious face and her glasses at the bridge of her nose.

"W-we a-are going t-to visit my grandm-mother at t-the h-hospital" Esau said with his hands shaking

She didn't buy the story by the look of her face but gave us  passes

"You two better be here by 11:20 or dentation afterschool, got it?"

We both nodded and made a run to the exit and ran all the way to the café.

At the café

We stopped at the entrance to catch our breaths I looked at Esau and started laughing but he just stared at me with a "please stop" face so I just went quiet, turn around and just opened the door leaving him outside. After that he opened the door in a harsh way and went to an empty booth

I just rolled my eyes and walked up to the cash register seeing a tall figure with broad shoulders and wavy black med long hair.

" I should've believed Esther when she said Rafa was gonna change his physical appearance" I said in my mind

"Yo Rafa, the usuals please" I said while leaning on the counter and looking at the gift cards

"And that is?" I heard unfamiliar voice said

"woah dude what happened to your voice" I laughed, looked up and saw an employee I've never seen around

"I know right, I blame puberty" he laughed

I just stared at him with a silent face

"You okay?" he waved his hand in my face and his head tilted to the right

"Y-yeah I'm fine" I smiled

"Great, so what's your usuals"

"A salty caramel with extra extra whipped cream and a vanilla ice tea with strawberry flavouring"

"OK, got it and that will be-"

"$5.98 yeah I know" I chuckled and reached for my money in my jean's pocket but I didn't feel anything I realised I didn't bring money

"Shit" I said with a sigh and my head throwed back

"You don't have your money don't you?" he asked with an understanding face

"Yeah"

"its fine" he said with a smile and then he gave me the drinks " have a good day" he shouted behind me when I made my way to Esau I looked back and smiled

"Here you go Mr Grumpy" I passed him his drink while dropping myself on the chair

"Now, are you going to tell me what's wrong? I said while sipping my ice tea

"Sigh, I didn't get in" he said

"Oh buddy I'm sorry I know how much you wanted to get in"

I went over to him and hugged him, I felt wetness on my shoulder that's how I know he was crying so I let him cry his eyes out until it was time to go

I checked the time and realised we had to head back to school I tapped his shoulder lightly letting him know it was time to leave he got up and grabbed his drink so did I and made our way to the exit

I looked over at my right and say the new barista doing his job and for some reason I smiled

Esau opened the door for me and held out his hand again for me to hold so I just held onto it and started walking back to school.

After school

Finally! School is over, Esther picks us up from school every day and she's always 25 minutes late but I don't blame her because the store is always packed with customers

"Wanna come over at my place and watch cringy TikToks?" Esau said with a crazy smile

"HELL YEAH!" I said with an hyper tone

Two seconds later, Esther pulled up with a screeching sound, whined down her window and said "HURRY UP DIPSHITS RAFA IS IN TROUBLE!" she said in a panicked tone and a scared face

Esau and I looked at each other and then ran to the car .
