It started when he left. This... heavy blanket over him appeared. Everyone saw it, yet he denied it. Said he was fine and plastered on a blinding smile. As the weeks went by his shining spirit started to dwindle. He talked less and less, jokes never made an appearance, his eyes lost their glorious shimmer, and his smile... lost in a never ending sea of depression and self-hate.
After Keith left, Lance lost his will to live. Growing up with nothing and always being overlooked then thrown into a situation where he can't be overlooked. Lance found a sense of peace in hanging with Keith, but he left for the Blade and now Lance has nothing.
A year after Keith's departure, Lance barely leaves his room. Hunk brings his food to his door and tries to get Lance to come out. He doesn't. This happens for weeks, but today it just doesn't feel right.
Hunk manages to get Pidge to override the security on Lance's door. When the door opens, Hunk bursts into heaving sobs. There is Lance. Hanging from the ceiling with slit wrists and a note that says: "I couldn't take it anymore. I'm sorry."
