Winter

Tenshi's POV:
I kept the fire going, after an hour, Sabo and Luffy came back with a large boar. They grinned as I told them to check on Ace while I cook the animal. They both climb up as I then begin to do my work on the boar. After gutting it I begin to cook the meat. Taking out three plates as the meat cooks, I place a blanket on the floor, placing the plates there. After 50 minutes all the meat is cooked and ready. I placed most of it on the blanket calling up to Sabo and Luffy as I got my share and Ace's. Once Luffy and Sabo were down, I grabbed my canteen of water and backpack as I begin to climb up carefully. I placed the food in my backpack. Making it up hearing Sabo and Luffy say a thank you from below. I walked in the room seeing Ace looking much more better sleeping. I place my backpack down taking out the food and water, I then shake Ace awake as he looks at me. I sit him up as I hand him the food. He begins to eat slowly, I smile handing him water as he eats. I begin to eat my share,

"T-Thank you" Ace says, his cheeks a bit red, I then checked his temperature and smiled seeing he's getting all better. I then said,

"Good, you're getting much better!" I give a small chuckle as I then still felt sluggish, I then said in a sad tone,

"Sadly I'll get sick soon"

He glances at me before saying a "sorry"

I then waved my hand a bit and ruffled his hair saying "nah don't sweat it, it was worth it seeing you get all better!"

I turned away picking up the plates as the food was gone not noticing Ace's face turning more red. I then said,

"Wait here while I take this down to wash, ah, I'll also be washing your old clothes too!"

I then went down seeing Luffy and Sabo say another quick "thank you" running up to the tree and climbing the rope. I shrugged this off thinking they were worried about their ill brother. I then looked up noticing the sky looking more mellow....

It seems winter is getting closer,

I sighed feeling my forehead, I walked towards the river and looked down at it seeing my cheeks a bit red. I grumbled,

"Fuck"

Now, I rarely got sick as a kid despite my living problems. Especially since I lived in the streets for most of my life.

Despite all that I rarely got sick!

But when I do, it hits me hard.

I mean literally, my strength becomes weak and I basically am a walking corpse.

Now this situation, isn't really something I was looking forward to. Like any other day, I opened my eyes only to feel my body ache as I sat up to greet the cold morning. It's been a 2 days since Ace finally got better. Sabo and Luffy said their thanks and Ace of course refused to say anything to me other than a thank you and left immediately while his two other brothers followed. He seemed a bit reluctant to speak to me even though we had that very heartwarming conversation. After that, I rarely saw the brats.

The cold winter was finally here as the sky dropped snow, covering the ground and trees, and of course while I would love to go out and enjoy this rare chance of snow since I lived in a state that didn't have snow ever. I sniffled and rubbed my nose, as I tiredly got up.

'I can't believe I got sick'

I began to slowly go towards my backpack reaching for the medicine I bought for Ace, only to groan in agony seeing the medicine bottles empty. 'The medicine wasn't working for me before, I need something stronger! Besides I have nothing left of it'

Despite my body covered in sweat, I placed on warm clothes that I bought from the village a couple days ago, it was a simple black coat and a shirt under with baggy grey sweats and a scarf. I sniffled as I got up placing my backpack on as I began to climb down almost falling down in the process from accidentally letting go of my weak grip. But I made it down (alive).
