⋆ 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗥 was familiar with Jamie, but something was different this time. This wasn't in his dreams; this was the disappointing reality, and he was just a pawn. Holding Darling's hand, he exhaled to get his nervousness out of his system. He felt his hands shaking uncontrollably, but Darling ensured he was okay by her side. Everything was a deathly silence, but Jamie couldn't distinguish between his short hearing and quietness.
"We need to find the others, and quickly," Darling finally whispered after the silence made things feel dangerous. Jamie nodded as the pair started to stroll, unsure of what was in the dark. Jamie and Darling realised they weren't bumping into people even if they were walking in complete darkness. The pair became alarmed and were too afraid to yell out to their friends, thinking there was something in the evening to grab them.
Jamie's heart was beating louder and louder than even he could hear. He was apprehensive that someone would attack him on his left side, giving them the advantage because Jamie couldn't hear anything from that ear. He didn't know how, but his left ear started to give out when he turned thirteen. Jamie thought that he had a curse, being half deaf on his 13th birthday, out of all the days to be enlightened with the fact that he lost one of his senses. Jamie threw away that theory as everyone thought he was using his excessive imagination despite all of that. But Jamie knew it was bad luck, which seemed to follow him everywhere.
