~3rd Pov~
"Y/n!" a soft call, echoed from downstairs, "time to get ready for school." Slowly coming to her senses, y/n fluttered her eyes open, and rolled out of bed. She sleepily brushed her hair and cleaned her teeth. After neatly putting on her school uniform and tucking in her shirt she slumped down the stairs and onto one of the stools next to the kitchen table.
"Morning" she silently mumbled as she placed her head onto the wooden table before her.
Placing a hot plate in front of y/n, the women sighed and turned back around to focus on pouring warm water into a mug, followed by grains of coffee.
"Here" the women slid the coffee along the table so that y/n could drink it. "Thanks."
Sitting opposite y/n the woman implied "You know today they are going to pick who is going to go to Korea to go to that big university everyone is talking about."
Y/n sighed and replied "yeah.."
The women continued "I was hoping that maybe you would get chosen as you have been working really hard this last year and I think it would be a good opportunity for you."
"I guess"
"Come on y/n this could be a new start... a new start from everything that you have felt with last year."
Y/n looked back upon the women and tilled her head backwards, in almost giving up. "Okay, mum, if I get the placement I promise that I will go to Korea."
The woman nodded approvingly as y/n got up and walked out of the front door, grabbing her backpack on the way out.
Walking to school didn't take long, y/n just had to walk up the street and into the double doors of misery before being pushed aside by the swarms of people.
Y/n was beautiful, but didn't try to fit into the categories of school and preferred to stay alone without the distraction of friends that you would just forget when you leave anyway. People admired y/n from afar, wishing that they could talk to her and be able to call her a friend. However y/n just pushed everyone away.
Around second period, a bell rang and all the students were called into assembly. An announcement was going to be made.
A tall man with a fitted black suit walked onto the stage at the front of the room and stood behind the podium. "Silence," his voice bounced off of the walls "I have a very important announcement."
"As you all know, this school has been honoured with the opportunity to partner with a prestigious university in Korea, a student is about to be picked who will go there and study there. They will do this because it could bring more money and make this school more popular to get more students from this country and even other countries."
After listening to the headteachers speech, y/n scoffed at the phase 'more money,' as that is all that they cared about.
The man paused and looked down onto a piece of paper that lay on the podium. "The lucky student that is going to go to Korea is...."
"Y/n L/n!"
Shocked y/n stood up and made her way towards the stage, making sure to not lock eye contract with anyone. As she did this, a huge wave of clapping roared from the other students. Y/n could of sworn she even saw a few start to cry as she was not going to leave. She was finally going to leave.
y/n walking up the side steps onto the stage and turned to face the audience all beady eyed staring at her. "Congratulations y/n." the man spoke.
"Thank you" y/n replied slightly excited by what her new life was going to be like.
"You were the student chosen as you have worked exceptionally hard and you speak well in Korean so it was kind of a no brainier of who would represent this school."
y/n fought a smile as she got down from the stage and walked outside to see her mothers car. The school must of called her earlier and told her the 'good' news. Y/n knew that she was the best choice to go to Korea even though she could still work on her Korean pronunciation.
Hoping into the car, y/n could see that her mother was beaming with happiness. "I can't believe you actually were chosen" she exclaimed. "You're going to do so well in Korea, I can already sense it."
As the school had already contacted y/n mum, she had already packed for y/n as the ticket for the plane left that day. They did this as then y/n would only miss two days of school, one to recover from travelling and the other to settle in to the dorm and to look around. Dorms, y/n was going to be put into a dorm with other girls from the university. Y/n sighed at this as then she would have to make small talk with them, and have to explain where she was from and maybe even had to make friends with them.
Once the car had reached the airport y/n said goodbye to her mum, and stepped out of the car. She walked into the building and breathed in, trying to remember the directions to the correct check in. While she was wondering around helplessly through the airport she was approached by a woman.
"Uh.. hello.. going school Korea?" y/n could tell that she struggled with English and replied in Korean "yes, I am the transfer student." The women was taken aback at y/n Korean skills and stated "Oh.. you're really good at Korean, I am here to help you get to your gate and then the school once we arrive." y/n replied "thank god, I was starting to become lost."
The woman took her bag and suddenly implied "Oh, my name is Yoon Mi Sun, but just called me Misun or Unnie" "Okay" said y/n.
They continued to walk through the airport after dropping off their luggage to get loaded onto the plane.
Misun was shorter than y/n and had long black hair that fell over her shoulders, she had quite a narrow face and clear skin. She was very pretty in comparison to herself, y/n thought.
Once they had reached the correct gate, they had to wait for a bit to board the plane. While waiting Misun went off to buy a drink as y/n sat down and checked her phone. When she unlocked it she was immediately bombarded with message all declaring how they will miss and never forget her. Sighing and turning off her phone she realised people were already boarding the flight, so y/n went to find Misun and they then went onto the plane.
The flight didn't feel as long as y/n though and throughout the flight she mostly slept and talked with Misun about the university she will now be attending.
~Time Skip to after the flight~
The flight has already landed and y/n and Misun were now collecting their luggage. Y/n didn't bring that much as her mum had packed a little saying that she will give y/n some money to buy new clothes when she gets their. When they walked out of the airport their was a man waiting for them with a car to drive them to the dorms. Y/n felt very tired after the flight and wanted to get some sleep, she felt that it would be irritating if her new roommates bother her tonight, and insist on getting to know each other more straight away. She just wants to sleep.
Arriving at the dorm, y/n got out of the car and said goodbye to Misun and the driver. She looked at the building before her, it was close to the school and was quite large as ten of them would be staying there. Y/n walked inside and clambered up the stairs with her luggage. Getting to the front door for the dorm she could feel a lump in her throat as this first meeting could determine how her school life and home life will be. What if her new roommates hate her?
She knocked on the door, knock knock.
