Too far in

Footsteps rang throughout the empty halls. My boots clicking against the stone floor as I walked, my face emotionless as I kept to myself. My arms behind my back as I walked in silence. I knew too well, I shouldn't be out here at night. I should be in my assigned room, but what can I say? After the war started I joined the Red Army, yes I joined Tord's army and I did it without a second thought. Matt and Edd were gone, Jehovah knows where. But they're gone, hopefully somewhere safe.

I stopped in front of a large, thick wooden door before taking out my Red key card swiping it as the door clicked allowing me in. I walked in making as less noise as I possibly could and closed the door behind me. I slid my key card into my pocket, my visor lighting up the room as I looked around. The room was bigger then all the other's one side had an ensuite bathroom. The other side had a door to a master bedroom and a small kitchen. Nothing much was kept in the fridge apart from my Smirnoff and some cigars, apparently it kept the tobacco fresh.

I rolled my digital eyes knocking on the master bedroom door, my arms held behind my back. It gave a small sense of power to me as I did this. A faint voice called me in from the other side as I bowed my head walking in. "Ah, my brave soldier. What can I do for you, or are you just wanting sleep?" I pursed my lips looking up to the Male who sat on the bed his legs crossed and a lit cigar held inbetween his fingers. "Sir, do you mind if I take one of your cigars?" His eyes widened slightly at the sudden question but swiped his arms in the air in a way to show 'go ahead'. "You may, but you know very well not to call me sir when it's just us in the room."

A small smile made it's way onto my lips. "Sorry, I'm just used to It Tord." His facial expression relaxed and he nodded. "I know Thomas, I know." I shook off the fact he called me by my full name and bowed my head before polite excusing myself to the kitchen to grab a cigar. I made my way back into the bedroom taking a seat beside the taller Male. "Need a light?" I nodded in response as Tord took out his lighter setting the end of my cigar on fire. We sat in a reassuring silence as we both took drags from our cigars.

I didn't mind the taste of the cigar, after all I have gotten used to them since me and Tord have been getting closer. Tord likes to say I'm his second in command, I basically take care of the base if he has to go out. But most of the time I'm by his side, I like it that way. "Thomas, are you okay?" I looked over to the horned Male and nodded taking another long drag from the cigar that feared in my right hand. "Just thinking, nothing to worry about." He pursed his lips contemplating whether to push or not. "Are you sure? Last time there was something bothering you."

I hummed in response sighing. "I'm fine, really. Just thinking about when I'm going to have my next mission." Tord rolled his visible eye the other hidden behind an eyepatch as he chuckled slightly. "You're such a pushover, you know that right?" I smirked a small chuckle coming from me. "Oh shush, I just like to be busy. You know that." He shrugged nodding. "I guess so, what type of job you wanting? Another mercenary job or something else?" I shrugged taking one last drag of the cigar before putting it out in the ashtray. "Whichever, I just need sleep." Tord ruffled my hair causing me to smile.

"I'll see what I can do, goodnight min kjærlight." He gently kissed my forehead as I climbed under the sheets falling into a dreanless slumber.

5am the morning

My 'eyes' opened slowly as I sat up groaning. I looked to my side to see Tord still sleeping a small smile made it's way onto my face. Being leader must be tiring, I guess. Well, I get half of the work he does, but- ugh nevermind pretend I didn't say that. I rolled my digital eyes snapping out of the argument with myself and pulled my side of the covers off of me swinging my legs over the edge of the bed. My vision showed the room in perfect light, probably due to my night vision. I groaned again and stood up. My feet met the carpeted floor and I walked over to the closet pulling out my outfit for the day.

I grabbed some boxers, some more black dress pants, another longseleeved navy blue dress shirt and of course my black sweater. I brought the clothes into the ensuite bathroom and locked the door behind me and started stripping from my clothes. I threw my worn clothes into the clothing hamper and placed my clean clothes onto of the closed toilet lid. I turned on the shower making sure it was on the hottest temperature and stepped in. The water burning my back as I let out a sigh of pleasure.

Water dripped down the front of my visor messing with my vision slightly as I started to clean myself. I finished washing my hair and stepped out drying my hair along with my body. Once I was dry I changed into my clothes making sure to straighten out the fabric once I did. I hummed to myself walking back into the bedroom. I grabbed my checked tie and wrapped it around my neck tying it neatly and tucked it in beneath my sweater.

Swiping my keycard I made my way into the hallway closing the door behind me quietly. My shoes clicked against the floor as I walked, soldiers saluting at me as I walked by. All of them making their way to the cafeteria for breakfast, only about 24 were awake at this time. But the chef's have a first come first serve policy. Me and Tord of course, always get our food first, unless we're feeling generous and allow others to get there's first.

The soldiers practically adored me, as I was the 'kind' leader. I rolled my digital eyes walking into the cafeteria. All soldiers stood up saluting as I nodded in response making my way to the line. 15 or 17 soldiers were already seated eating peacefully. A few talking to their fellow piers as they did so and a few staying quiet. I was known as the 'quiet' leader despite the apparent kindness I had. "Good morning, Sir. Same as always?" I nodded in response. "Make sure you don't accidentally put milk in my coffee this time." Angel, the chef, nodded passing me a tray of my breakfast and turned to make my coffee.

She quickly passed It to me as I nodded in approval walking to my table. Pat and Pau sat next to each other talking quietly as they ate, I sat in front of the two as they turned to me smiling. "Morning Tom." I smiled in return. Those two and Tord were the only ones 'allowed' to call me by my real name. Tord's request of course, I had no interest in that choice. "Morning you two, how are you?" The two married men nodded happily, well Patryk did. Pau had a small smile on his face as a cigarette hung from his lips. "Good, well alright. We haven't really gotten any jobs for a while, neither have you so- yeah, I guess we're alright."

I hummed in agreement. "I mean, Tord's been fussing about a meeting that includes some other rebellion leaders, so that's probably why. He's put the other soldiers on small missions like to raid more areas." The two nodded as silence hung over us for a few seconds as I took a sip from my coffee. I grumbled placing it down again and stood up gaining the soldier's attention. "Does anyone actually know how to make a fucking black coffee without too much sugar or without 'accidentally' adding milk?" I added emphasis on the word accidentally as Soldiers froze at my angered tone.

Angel ran over to me taking the cup from the table retreating to the kitchen with the words 'I'm sorry' before she disappeared. Tord then walked in, his blue overcoat flapping behind him as he walked. He came to a stop in the middle of the room as everyone stood saluting including myself before dropping it. "Now, can anyone inform me on why Thomas is enraged?" There was a silence before Alice rushed into the room saluting quickly to Tord. "I- uh.." I cut her off almost instantly. "Well apparently no one can make a cup of black coffee without 'accidentally, adding milk or too much sugar."

Tord rubbed his temples looking down at the teen. "Is this true?" She hesitated before bowing her head muttering an apology. "Pau, Take her to solitary. Derek, do you mind taking over Angel's job?" The requested boy stood up shaking his head. "Not at all, Red Leader Sir, I'll get right on it." Pau stood up grumbling to himself as he grabbed the girl's arm dragging her out of the room. The boy rushed into the kitchen not hesitating for a second as he did so.

"Thomas, Pat. My office. Derek bring a black coffee with half a teaspoon of sugar to my office." The teen nodded quickly getting to work as me, Pat and Tord made our way to Tord's office.
