A Friend Like You

Harsh words leave your mouth when they open claiming to be a joke

Thinking of it makes me choke

Gasping for air, this is just not fair

You say things to embarrass me and make me feel insecure

We're friends so it's funny you say

Don't you know you hurt me even more than they could

End it, I wish I would

Someone who should defend me and lift me up drove me straight into the ground

My heart breaks when you come around

An enemy in disguise, someone I should despise

No one deserves a friend like you

Yet I keep sticking to you
like a fool

Someone should have told you the rules

Follow the guide and you won't lose

I'm the one losing because of whom I'm choosing

Maybe one day I'll let it end

Til that day comes I'll still be your friend
