Delilah sat down in class, Emmerson beside her. They worked on papers together, ate lunch together and eventually headed home together. They never seperated themselves from one another. Delilah was a quiet, somber soul, just wanting a chance to smile. She rarely spoke to anyone besides Emmerson, besides her parents and teachers of course. This always brought up problems however seeing as they paid no attention to her best friend. Once out of pressing side glances, they comforted each other. Niether would ever be left alone by the other, that was for certain. Emmerson gave Lilah one last goodbye for the night before climbing down a ladder from her open window. Delilah tossed and turned, trying to sleep. She remembered being alone for so long in her early life and could not help that same sinking feeling when Emmy left at night. Just as always, they would meet once more in the nearing future.
