Where do I watch my Tokusatsu?

So first off, let me clear things up in case if you haven't read my profile bio at all.

As an American (or, as a person living in the West for all you people living in Asia, Europe, Africa, or Australia), I don't have the accessibility to watch Tokusatsu on TV or buy it on DVD without the knowledge of Japanese. And while Amazons (except for Last Judgement) is on Amazon Prime and some of the Ultraman shows are on Crunchyroll, the majority of the Toku shows can only be viewed by other means.

Now, where do I watch my tokusatsu shows? Well, let's give you some insight here on my history of viewing tokusatsu.

Now, it might be surprising for you, but YouTube was the first viewing spot for full episodes of Tokusatsu. Back when copyright wasn't a thing, pretty much all episodes can be viewable without any border or pitched voice.

I also used supersentaiplanet.com to watch some sentai episodes, mainly Gokaiger. Don't bother searching it up. It's now down. And besides, there are better choices now than that.

If you know about JEFusion, then you might've known that for a while they hosted some subbed episodes of toku shows. This was still before YouTube copyright got serious. I used it to watch Gaim.

I also used JAToku during Ex-Aid's airing. I stopped using that site because of the way that ads were treated and the duration of how long the new episodes would come. I'm pretty sure it's better, but I'm not using it.

And now we get to my current ways to view Toku through other means.

Kissasian is infamously the greatest site for not only your Toku shows, but also Asian dramas. There are a lot of Toku shows on there besides the most recent shows. I use Kissasian if I'm lazy to torrent the shows or to see if the shows I'm starting to watch peak my interest. It kinda bugs with the extra stuff like servers, ads, and captchas, but some servers don't need it, and you can pretty much get used to these kinds of things.

The other way I use is torrenting. In case if you didn't know, KissAsian does not create these subs. There are many subtitle groups that take their time in subbing every single episode for english viewers to see. Prominent ones include TV-Nihon, Over-Time, Genm Corp, and many more. You can either search up the subbing group to download the episodes or go on Nyaa.si or some other torrent hosting site to download them. The advantage of downloading them over KissAsian is you won't get countless pop-up ads and server crashes so you would have to get a captcha or something. Second, once they're fully downloaded, they're offline! You don't need an internet connection to watch them, as long as you have sufficient episodes to watch. They're also in HD (if you choose that quality though), so no need to change the video quality.

One disadvantage is that you need to get a torrent application like utorrent. That can be intimidating if you're subpar with computers and the internet, but the good outweighs the bad. Just download the program, learn how it works, and once you do, it's lodged in your brain to remember forever.

Sometimes I use torrenting, other times I use KissAsian.

Go with what you're used to and watch to your heart's content.
