Chapter 1: prologue

Alec's p. o. v

"Hi, my name is Alec Lightwood. It's short for Alexander. I don't really know how to start but here we go.....

This is me, live on an old 90's sterio, I know, its weird, but I don't care about your opinions because I think this is the only way I will be able to do this.

I am going to take you all on a trip about my life, and why might you ask why I am not here to tell you in person is because I am not able to...

My journey is the reason I killed myself, or tried to anyway... Because the thing is, is that I'm actually not dead... I'm still living in this depressing world, finally choosing the choice to tell you.

Yeah, I know that the last tape I gave to you all was about me saying it was my last one and I was going to do suicide, but this is my actual last one. For real this time.

I don't know when my tape was given to the school and to hear them listen to my worthless life, but I want to restart, and tell you the full story, the bits I missed out, and the parts that I never mentioned at all.

Now, there are two rules:
1) you listen
2) you hear the tapes and pass them on.
One will be farely easy, while the other might not.

That was the first thing I mentioned in my tape I gave to you all. I wanted you all to hear my tragic story and I guess it happened. All I know in this school is darkness, just like my favourite colour, well, I'm doing my best to listen to his advice and try to wear bright colours that are not white, black, and grey, but it's kinda working, kinda, not.

The reason why I'm not passing these tapes to everyone and then to finally get to the school is because... Because I don't want ever to wait for this, I've been hiding my whole life and it is finally time for me to stand up in what I have to do and do it, just like what he said... I'm not going to pass the tape round to everyone so I will jsut let everyone hear right here, right now.

My tapes I gave to you were 12. There were 12 tapes I gave, but I'm making it 13, there's always 13 tapes in the movie so I planned to make one last one.

Each of these tapes are needed for a specific person, the people in these tapes I thought I could trust, but there truly one was one that survived in my trust. The one I could give my life to, and I knew they would look after it.

Each of the tapes has one name for each. They are all a big part in my life. They are the ones that made me try to commit suicide, but like I said before, there was only one that made me still stay on this ground and live the life I deserved to life.

Well, I know this is going to the whole school, so I'm finally ready to tell you all that happened. I'm finally ready to tell you all the whole story.

Each of these tapes are to these people. The people that are evolved in my life are Clary Fairchild, Jace Wayland, Simon Lewis, Isabelle Lightwood, Maryse Lightwood, Robert Lightwood, Max Lightwood, Camille Belcourt, Ragnor Fell, Sebastian Morganstern, and... Magnus Bane"

His voice broke when he said Magnus's name, but he carried on, trying not to let the tears fall yet.

"Before I start, why don't you go get a snack and a drink and sit down, because this is going to be one hell of a long story.

Hey, I hope you like my first chapter, I'm very excited to keep working with this one, I really hope all of you will enjoy. And also just wanted to say I'm so sorry how long I've taken with Love And Saddness, but the story will carry on.
