"a letter to myself"

dear me,
i am sorry.
i am sorry that you try so desperately to fix others, when your own hands are shaking. i'm sorry that i don't give you enough time to heal, that i let you seal the wounds of everyone else whilst your own are bleeding. i'm sorry that there are days when smiling hurts but you force yourself to laugh so that no one has to worry about you. i'm sorry that you give all your time and effort to people that don't give the same amount back. i'm sorry that there are nights you cry yourself to sleep and no one bothers to understand why. and i am so sorry that i don't love you, like you deserve to be loved.
