Sometimes I dream about the snow.

A white pillow covering the ground as far as the eye can see.

Little snowflakes falling all around. Getting caught in my hair, my eyelashes.

I dream of making snow angels. Having snowball fights. Building a snowman. Just having a snow day.

Being bundled up in layers upon layers, wearing scarves, earmuffs. Maybe even a winter hat. Ripping off my gloves to catch the snowflakes.

Feeling them melt on my skin.

Then, I wake up.

I realize, I'm still in my room. Wearing my summer pajamas while the sun shines through my curtains. I try to close my eyes again, just to somehow get back to my amazing dream.. but it's too late, it's over.

Hopping out of bed, my hair falls out of the loosened bun I made last night. I hear a buzz from my dresser and look down at the screen of my phone. It's Lissa, my friend from school. She wants to know if I can sleepover at her house on Friday.

Putting my phone back down, I quickly make my bed and throw on my sky blue onesie with little cat faces on it. Don't judge me, it's warm. I throw on my fluffy bunny slippers before padding downstairs.

Winter isn't the same here as it is on tv. We don't really get snow, but it can get super cold. We're in the first month of winter and we've already woken up to temperatures like -1 degrees Celsius (30 degrees Fahrenheit).

I live inland, we have more of a dry winter, meaning we don't get rain in winter. Which means no snow. Around the coast it rains in winter, but doesn't really snow. My dad lives on the coast, my mom and I live inland.

The closest I've ever come to seeing snow is when my mom and I visited my cousins in London. I was about 3 years old and we saw sleet falling outside. So we ran out as quickly as our little feet and parents would let us and a minute after we got outside it stopped.

That's sort of been my life when it comes to snow.

It's like it avoids me.

I went down to the coast once and my mom told me it was snowing inland, she even sent pictures! When I flew back there wasn't any snow, but my dad said it was snowing on the coast and sent pictures too.

It hasn't snowed since.

It feels like I've always been chasing the snow..

Ever since I saw the sleet in London, I've absolutely loved snow. All my artworks have snow in them in some way, shape, or form. My room's always decorated in blues and whites.

I love winter, it's my favorite season!

Summer's way to hot for me, I've come to call myself hot-blooded instead of warm-blooded since I don't really get cold often.

I walked straight to the kitchen and opened the fridge to find something to have for breakfast. Scanning each cabinet, I settle on leftovers from dinner. Chicken Curry, but I wouldn't call it a curry (don't tell my mom). While dishing up, my mind starts to wonder.

'I wonder if it'll snow this year.. I should really be studying. My exam's tomorrow. Oh! I completely forgot about the muffins!! I'll have them instead.'

I grab a couple muffins, put the 'curry' back in the fridge and plop in front of the tv. I sort of feel out of place, but I brush it aside, choose a show, and start watching.

This has been my life for the past 3 weeks. Writing exams every Thursday, relaxing every other day. I just can't help feeling like I'm supposed to be doing something else...
