That upcoming monday, everyone was in Studio A talking about the last competition amd once the pyramid was done, competition information and dancing assignments were next and Julie was in Studio A with Abby, Cameron, Gianna, the girls and the moms.
"This week we'll be staying put because we'll be competing at the Energy Dance Competition here in Chicago. We had a fantastic competition the last time we competed here in our home of Chicago and sadly, we didn't win and we'd like to win." Abby said. then she and Cameron turned to Julie.
"Julie, would you like to do the honors of giving out the assignments?" Cameron offered.
"Sure." Julie answered. "Nia and Mackenzie will be doing a duet named Walk Like An Egyptian, which is one of my favorite songs. Paige has a solo, Brooke also has a solo and Chloe, you also have a solo called Opening Night and honestly, when we're looking at this pyramid, Abby and Cameron don't even want to do a group routine, becuase they've told me you're lazier than Garfield, lifeless and don't give them 150%. But this routine is named Thriller, like the Michael Jackson song and also the name of his largest selling album."
"All right, now we got that out of the way, moms you are dismissed and girls, warm up." Abby said as the moms went to the observation room and the girls spread out and began warming up.
In the front office, Cameron and Julie were helping Gianna out with the paperwork for Abby.
"What do you think might happen at the competition? "Julie asked.
"Who knows?" Cameron said "Hopefully the girls can give you a better result this week."
"Win or lose, they're the best in my book." Julie stated.
"Thanks." Gianna told Julie, who gave her a thumbs up. "Remember when i was 12, Abby took me to Macy's to get some shoes for an interview? She brought you and Cameron along with us, but it was after they had closed and Abby banged and banged on the door, but they at least opened it for us because i needed a pair of shoes."
"I remember that really well." Cameron said and coming in was a young man with some hair in his 20's.
"Hey, everbody." The young man greeted and Cameron and Gianna greeted him as Julie looked on.
"Who is that?" Julie asked Cameron and Gianna.
"Julie, this is James Washington, he's one of the other faculty members of the ALDC and Abby hired him last year. James, this is Julie Martinez, she used to dance here." Gianna introduced.
"Nice to meet you, James." Julie said, shaking his hand.
"Pleasure is all mine." James replied. "Julie, how long have you known Gia and Cam?"
"I've known Cam since we were little and the same year we were born, which was 1994, Gia came to the studio and we have known her since and she reunited with some of the teen dancers that reunited with her and she hasn't met any of the others yet, but she'll get her chance." Gianna answered. "When she came here last week, we introduced her to Rachael."
"Yeah." Cameron stated.
Two days later, Paige was rehearing her solo and in there with her was Abby, Cameron and Brooke and Paige was dancing and when Abby and her son found out that the prop wasn't there, they looked over at Paige,
"Paige, where is the prop that was needed for your solo?" Abby asked.
"Mom didn't bring it, she felt that it wasn't needed and said i was good without it." Paige answered truthfully.
Abby and Cameron both looked up at Kelly and mouthed something to her and in response, Kelly flipped them off and cursed at them as Brooke and Paige looked embarrassed that their mother was acting like that.
