LLUVIA'S POV
I was walking down the street heading to the lab when I suddenly remembered my late night talk with Tita Helia.
"If 'I love you' was a promise, would you break it?"
Well, that's a lyrics from a song that I recently heard and that question had been stucked in my head so I decided to let it out to Tita Helia.
Tutal sya naman ang may experience right? Kung meron man. Uhmm dahil, hanggang ngayon wala pa rin syang boyfriend?
"Hmm, that's a very interesting question, Lluvia...." she paused for a little while. "I once broke it but it just because.. you know, my lovestory is really tragic and he's the one who first broke that."
Nanatili lang akong tahimik habang pinapakinggan ang kwento nya.
"Yeah, well kung panghahawakan ko pa rin yon. Masasaktan lang ako so it's better to let go..." she said.
"Maybe your right."
"I AM right.." she said emphasizing the word I AM. "Actually, kakapakasal nya lang nung isang buwan."
Natawa sya sa kawalan pagkatapos sabihin iyon.
"How about if I'll ask you back that question? Lluvia..If I love you is a promise would you break it?" she said, leaving me with that question.
Kung ganun rin naman ang situation ko tulad ng kay Tita Helia. I won't hesitate to break it. Pero sana hindi naman ako matulad kay Tita.
But in Perseus situation...
I don't know...
Paano na lang kapag hindi bumalik yung dating sya? What if his memories don't come back and what if his feelings for me will be forever gone?
Ayoko ng ganun...
Magbubukas na sana ako ng front door kaso bigla na lang ako may naramdaman.
I head a crack, like a foot stepped on a twig.
"Who the fu— who the heck is following me?" irita kong tanong.
Kainis. Sino naman ang nakasunod sa akin hanggang dito?
"Tss, stop hiding or else I'll activate the security alarm!" pananakot ko kahit wala namang security alarm dito dahil sa sobrang luma na nga.
Maya-maya may lumitaw na ulo sa likod ng kotse ni Tita Esmeralda na nakapark sa unahan.
It's Hui.
"Ni Hao?" he said then laughs nervously.
I rolled my eyes and walk towards him.
"What the heck are you doing here?" inis kong tanong.
Inayos naman nya ang jacket nya bago ako sagutin.
"Eehhh. Sorry, don't be mad. I just got curious..." kamot-ulo nyang sabi.
Napalingon naman ako dahil narinig kong bumukas yung pinto. It's Tita Helia.
"Oh my! Lluvia. Nandito ka na pala— oh and you have a friend with you. Why don't you invite him in? We're just about to eat breakfast." nakangiting alok ni Tita Helia.
Tss, ngayon mas lalo ko ng hindi mapapaalis 'to.
"Come on, Lluvia!" the brightly-smiling Hui said.
Mas nanguna pa ngang pumasok sa bahay kaysa akin.
Ano pa nga ba?
So that's why I end up sitting beside Hui in front of the dining table.
"Wow, Lluvia I'd never thought someone here in China have the interest to be friends with you. Does your social skills improved? Congrats.." dere-deretsong sabi ni Tita Esmeralda na may pagkasarkastiko.
Tss, I want to end her— No, Lluvia. Tita mo sya. Woh. Pasalamat na lang sya.
"What ever, Esme— I mean TITA Esmeralda" I said giving a stress in the word tita.
I looked around the table and I saw NO Perseus.
"Where the heck is Perseus?" tanong ko.
"Who's Perseus?" tanong naman ni Hui.
"He's getting ready there upstair." sagot naman ni Tita Helia
Kinulbit naman ako ni Hui.
"Hey, who's Perseus?" he almost whisper.
"You'll know him later." matipid kong sagot.
Nilapag na ni Tita Helia ang ulam at ang dagdag na kanin para sa aming dalawa.
Hmm why does it smells like a perfume? Oh — wait that's Perseus coming near.
"Hey, good morning.." bati nya sa akin pagkaupo sa kabilang tabi ko.
He is surely fresh-looking. Halatang bagong-ligo. Medyo basa pa ang buhok nyang parang fininger-combed lang but looks perfectly on him.
He is very handsome with his plain light blue shirt that match his black shorts.
"G-good morning rin.." I lately replied.
Napatingin naman sya sa tabi ko at medyo may pagtataka sa mukha.
"Sino yan?" tanong nya.
Napalingon naman ako kay Hui at nakatingin rin sya ng mag pagtataka kay Perseus.
"What did he say?" tanong naman ni Hui.
Sitting in between them is a bad idea for me.
Tita Esmeralda clears her throath that made the two look away each other.
"So Lluvia. Do you mind introducing that friends of yours?" she said.
"Yeh, he's Hui." matipid kong sagot.
"E? You're only saying my name? That's it?" reklamo naman ni Hui.
"Fine. Fine. I met him in the public market and he cooks noodles" dagdag ko.
"Yeh, a very delicious noodles." dagdag naman nya at hindi pa rin nawawala ang ngiti nya.
"Really? Maybe you could cook for us next time?" masayang sambit naman ni Tita Helia.
"They got a restaurant, actually." sabi ko pa habang nginunguya ang pagkain ko.
"Well! That's even better maybe we can go there sometimes. By the way, I'm Helia and she's Esmeralda." pakilala ni Tita Helia.
"Nice to meet you, Ma'am." sabi naman ni Hui
"Your english is good." puri ni Tita Esme.
"Thank you.." Hui shyly said.
"Right, Perseus?" tanong ni Tita Helia with an uprising tone.
Napatigil naman si Perseus sa pagnguya at tumango.
"Why not introduce yourself too?" may pagkasarkastikong sabi ni Tita Esmeralda.
"Yeah, I'm Perseus, that's my Mom, that's my Mom's bestfriend and..."
Napalipat ang naman tingin nya sa akin at parang may gusto syang sabihin.
"And she's.."
