-Few weeks later-
I wake up and, almost forgetting to change out of city clothes, and I go through my daily routine.

1. Breakfast

2. Studies(very boring)

3. Lunch

4. Boredom(probably going to the gardens with my turtles)

5. More boredom(waiting for after dinner)

6. You get it

7. Dinner

8. Go out because I can now.

I slip on the clothes we borrowed from Mr. Douchbag, open the window, and slide out through the garden. I take the bus to the train into New York.

I walk around a bit, knowing exactly where to go. I look at the dusty old bar and walk in. It looks the same as always. I spot three guys in the back, Alex, Laf, and Herc. Thank god I found them. I'm always scared that they won't be there one day.

I walk over to their table, wondering what we're doing today.

Are we gonna recruit more people? Or we could just talk? I don't know. I've gotten pretty close to these guys and I don't really care anymore, as long as it's with them.

"Ayyy John!" Why is Hercules so loud? The other two chuckle. "I didn't think you'd make it!"

"To be sure?" They all laugh.

Alex stands up and looks at me. My stomach goes all fluttery when his eyes meet mine. Ahhh this always happens. Why is this happening ughhhhh. "Well, since you're new here, I think we should take you for a tour of New York City." Wait. How does he know I've never been here?

I glare at Hercules and mouth, what did you tell them!?!

To which he shrugs and mouths, just go with it. Have fun! With a cheesy smile and two extra big thumbs up. I roll my eyes.

"So where should we take you first?" Alex looks at me. God, I love the way his eyes just bounce off the setting sun, his brown eyes becoming a pool of honey, while sparks of gold are carelessly thrown in from the sun. Shoot I'm staring. It's getting a bit warm in here. Why does Alex always make me blush?!?

"U-uhm. I don't know."

Lafayette finally says something to break the silence. "We could just walk around, find something to eat!"

Hercules likes this idea. "Food! Sounds great." I laugh.

"Uh guys, food places are probably clos-"

I give Alex a friendly glare and giggle. "Let them have their fun." He just stands there.

"Uh... o-ok..."

Alex
Gosh dang it, he giggles.

So we ended up walking around New York City, taking in the sights of the city at night, which is actually really pretty. I think John liked it a lot because he couldn't stop looking up at all the lights that illuminate the city. It was kinda really cute. The silvery twinkle in his eyes when he looks at the li-cOUgh

Laf and Herc walked really fast ahead of us(looking for food) so I was just Johns tour guide, explaining almost every building and speck of dust you could find in New York City.

"Well, you really know your way around don't you?" He smiled at me. I feel like his voice has a slight accent. I can't put a finger on what kind of accent though.

"Yeah! I wasn't really born here but I walk around a lot to talk with my people and they talk to me a lot. It might sound weird saying they're my people but in a way they are? I don't know. I don't really own them because they have their own lives but yeah. I'm probably not even a good prince but-"

John shushed me before I could go any farther. "Ok stop right there. You, Alexander Hamilton, are the single greatest prince ever. You're really kind to everyone here. Heck, I think you stopped about twenty times to give money and food to people on the streets! And you barely had any money. Don't doubt your amazingness ok?"

I swallowed. "Thanks... for that." He probably has no idea how much I needed that mini pep talk. But I have to forget it or else I'll go spiraling down into reasons that isn't true. Or I'd start getting attached. And I'm never making that mistake again.

He smiled. "Always gonna be here." But his smile is so contagious what the heck. It's so hard not to get attached though...

I am also bewildered by his kindness. That's all I'm gonna say. No one has ever said anything like that to me! You'd have to really really like me to actually say that.

"So what do you like to do Alex? In your free time."

"Well... I like to write. I write a lot so. Yeah. It's not that weird because I think lots of people do it! Some people just think it's weird because they think I write a lot. Psh. I don't."

"Huh. I don't think it's weird. What do you write about?" He tilts his head.

"Mostly law stuff. I occasionally write about my feelings and weird stuff like that but I just write in general. How about you?"

He's silent for a few seconds. He looks away. "I like playing with my turtles. I really like turtles. Heh, sorry. That was random."

"It's ok! Turtles are awesome."

His eyes light up. "I know right! They're so amazing! Like one time" he keeps talking about his turtles so excitedly. It's so fun to watch him come out of his shell and be himself(no pun intended). I feel like he's always so hidden. But he's really amazing. He cares about so many people(and turtles). It's really awesome. I can't stop staring at him though. Trust me turtles are awesome but just watching John talk about turtles is just... wow.

I tuck a loose strand of his curly hair behind his ear. He stops talking and looks over at me with a small smile. His face is tinted a shade of bright red, but probably from the walking. There's a light glow on his face from the city lights and you can see almost every single freckle on his face and he's just... wow.

He looks past my face and then he gasps.

"I should probably be getting home now."

I swivel my face around to see where he's looking. A clock. It's basically midnight.

"Oh. Ok." I say, trying to hide the slight disappointment I'm feeling.

He looks up ahead. "Hey Herc! I'm gonna head back so... uhm. Ok!"

Hercules turns around to face John. "Sure! Ok! I'll just walk Laf home and be there in a bit."

"Alright! Bye Laf! Bye Herc!" He turns to me and smiles again. "Bye Alex! See you guys tomorrow? At the bar?"

I can only nod. "Do you want me to walk you..."

"Uhm. I don't wanna bother you. Plus, your palace is that way so..." he points behind me.

I turn around. Oh. I'm pretty close to home! I turn back to the freckles boy standing a few feet away form me. "Are you sure I can't walk you?"

He hesitates. "Next time. You can walk me home." He smiles.

"Alright. Stay safe. See you tomorrow Freckles! And say hi to the turtles for me!"

He turns around and his face is a bit pink. Cute... cOUgh but not the point. "Will do!" He waves and I watch him walk down the street. Goodnight John.

John
That was awesome. I might have gotten carried away with the turtles but eh. I flop down on my bed and pass out almost immediately, thinking of what we'd do tomorrow and thinking of Alex mostly. But shhhhhhhhhh. You didn't hear that from me. He's just... sigh. :)

"Goodnight Alex." I whisper from all the way in South Carolina. I'm kind of glad he doesn't know who I am. That would change so much. Oh well. He doesn't know. We're good. I can sleep now cuz I'm suuuper tired.
