'Tsuki ga kirei desu ne'
Literal meaning: 'The moon looks so beautiful tonight'
That's an expression of saying 'I love you'. I just found out that it isn't actually a common phrase. People who aren't Japanese usually won't be familiar with the 'actual' meaning behind it.Let's throwback to 2017, when Sana did a vlive with Dahyun, she said 'tsuki ga kirei desu ne' to Dahyun and Dahyun didn't actually know what the meaning of the phrase was. So she guessed by asking 'Are you saying you like me?'
A month later, BTS celebrated their 4M subscribers on vlive. Taehyung and Namjoon made an 'English interview' segment. Taehyung acted as an interviewee. In the middle of the interview, Taehyung found a difficulty to say some words in English, so he started to speak Japanese instead. He unexpectedly said the exact same phrase as Sana. By reading his face what he meant to say was 'I love you' but Namjoon didn't seem to get it then repeated in Korean, he asked 'the moon is pretty?'
I took a screenshot with the Japanese subtitle, so you can see that they were saying the same thing.
These are the parts when Dahyun and Namjoon did not quite understand what Sana and Taehyung meant.
