The Ittan-Momen is a demon that pertains to the family of tsukumogami. This refers to inanimate objects that came to life and now wander around. Due to the belief that household objects can come to life, people always took care of them. Thus, in case that they really came to life, they would not come to get revenge. One of the most famous objects is the kasa obake, an umbrella with one eye and a lolling tongue. But the ittan-momen is also up there.

The ittan-momen is a simple and narrow sheet of cloth which people use to make clothes. As you can imagine, after a long time of being in the service of humans, it came to life. Mostly, this demon resides in the region of Kagoshina. Some can see it flying through the sky at night. From time to time it also attacks people by wrapping around them and chocking them. It just strangles humans until they run out of breath and they die.

Ittan-Momen- The Evil Cloth:

The ittan-momen is really vindictive and malicious. However, it is not mischievous like other types of demons. No, not this one. You won't see this tsukumogami trying to pull pranks on anyone. This entity does not seem to have any sense of humor or sympathy for anyone. It just flies through the skies at night and drops onto unsuspecting humans. You can see depictions of this creature in various type of media.

Animes, such as Inu x Baku SS, are probably the first type of media that started including this creature, however they aren't necessarily portrayed as evil in these animes.
