I began to run in the woods, I knew something was beginning to follow me in the dark forest. My petticoats, corset, and shoes were long gone; leaving me in a thin chemise. I felt bare, unprotected, and exposed. I kept running, but my lungs would slowly begin to falter under the immense pressure, and my feet began to slow. I could hear the pursuer's footsteps close in. Panicked- I unfocus and stumble, tripping on seemingly thin air. I look behind me in fear, all I see is dangerous hazel eyes.

With a start; I sit up, hyperventilating from my second nightmare of the week. Each nightmare was different, but each had an uncanny ability to leave me weary for the rest of the morning. I attempt to close my eyes but I can't ignore the hustle and bustle that lay below my room. I can't help but sigh with complete exhaustion.

I should be down there. This is my own tavern.

If you wish to manage it, you can't do it from your chamber.

My mind was telling me to get dressed and begin the day, but my heart stopped me and nearly convinced me to close my eyes and try to give sleep a second shot. I couldn't help but groan as I listened to my brain and began to get dressed for the day - a boundless activity within itself.

Finishing my dutch braid and securing it with some blue ribbon, I quickly descend to the lower level of the Elswer. Patrons successfully filled the Inn, as they lingered by the counters and the leisure chairs near the hearth. It wasn't the only Inn at the coast of the Hudson Bay. But it was known for its excellent service and superb décor, both of which helped surge business. I couldn't help but sigh as I stared at the fur trappers ahead of me waiting to book a room.

Tucking a curl behind my ear I approach the desk with an eager smile.
