Chapter 2 //Memory Lane

I  walked through the village of mewni. It looked as if every house had been run over. It had large footprints through it and was completely abandoned. "Tom, this is scary." I complained. Tom didn't answer. I realized Tom wasn't there! Where had he gone? "Whatever. We broke up, anyways. It's not like I need him." I just have to find Marco, bring him to the sanctuary, and then everything will be okay. I shuddered, looking at the once crowded town. I looked up at the castle. If only magic wasn't on the fritz! Then I could just zap myself up there. I walked past a corn shake stand. Me and Tom used to get corn shakes there. That was before we broke up. I remember exactly how it happend. He had pushed me into a wall, and got mad when I defended myself. I do sorta think he's changed. He would never hurt me. "Star! Help!" Tom shrieked. I whipped around, to see Tom hiding under a stand, meteora searching for him. "Tom! I missed you so much!" I squealed, hugging him. He put his finger onto my mouth, shushing me. He motioned towards Meteora, still stalking us. I scooted closer to him, my heart pounding. I reached for my wand. "No! Stop!" Tom whispered, grabbing my hand away. "If you touch it, it'll alert her on our position!" I nodded. "I wish Marco taught ME karate." I whispered. Tom laughed, then covered his mouth, his face turning red. I silently giggled. "Didn't you use your dimensional scissors to get us here?" I asked. Toms face lit up as he reached into his pocket. "Oh no! I left them over there." He pointed to a stand, next to Meteora. "I'll get them, Tom." I whispered. Standing up. I raced towards the stand. Meteora noticed me. I grabbed the scissors. Just as I got them, she shot her "death ray" at me. I couldn't escape. I closed my eyes in fear. Nothing. I didn't feel my soul ebb away or anything. I opened my eyes. Tom had jumped in front of me, and was laying on the ground, his eyes black. "TOM! NO!" I sobbed, tears flooding my eyes. I rubbed my eyes and buried my face into his hair. This was all my fault. Then I saw something over the horizon. The sanctuary! I grabbed Tom, and used my dimensional scissors to teleport there. There were three flower pods. I quickly shoved Tom into one of them. It closed. I wiped away some of my tears. The pod opened. "Star!" Tom cried out, rushing towards me. I grabbed him by the arm and kissed him on the lips

Tom pulled me closer to him and we fell onto the ground. I wrapped my arms around him. The heat from his body seemed to surround me. My face was bright red as I finally pulled away. I gave him a awkward smile. "Let's get to the castle." I said softly, helping him up. I used the scissors to make a portal into the castle.
